I kinda agree, there is too many insurance threads been started. I know i started one a couple of weeks ago, but that was because i geniuely needed help.
People don't know how to use a 'Search' Button.

It is a good suggestion but would the forum as a whole start to look cluttered?
Also look at the state of general chat anyway, we have forums covering just about all aspects yet every hour people still post threads on brakes, induction kits, styling in general chat.
Thoughts?

Im not convinced...
Surely an insurance forum would become very outdated very quickly. If someone posts details of a scheme or quote one month, its not likely to be the same the following month?
A list of insurance companies with contact details would be handy, so maybe a pinned thread in the queries forum or somewhere... but an dedicated insurance forum? Hmmmmm... :err:

good point...
I still think its a good idea as the amount of times I jump into the general chat section and I'm presented by the subject 'Insurance' or 'How much do you pay in insurance?'
Out of all the posts this subject is most repetitive, regardless of what the original question actually posed people nearly always post back with how much they are paying, so much so that i can now recall what at least five people are currently paying to insure their car :err:
Of course it is a fairly important subject for all the users on this site as generally the avg. age of the members is relatively low and thus find insurance expensive which means searching and carrying out initial research for a decent quote is all the more important :) Thus the insurance threads can be collected together to aid searches, sadly some people title their insurance threads with 'is this good?' etc which is unlikely to be pulled up in a search which could be missed which would be shame in the unlikely event it contained anything different from all the other threads.
Also while i'm gibbering on, I did put up an insurance post the other day and im very sorry :innocent:
In fact a prime example of this is the current insurance thread in general chat:
http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39858
The lad asked what is the average price for a 1.1 at 17 years old, and we get a person replying with quotes for a VTR at 20 with 5 points, which bares no resemblence to the question asked - useful :err: And yes there will be an average quote for a 17 year old on a 1.1 on his insurance, he wont be getting quotes of £500 it'll be nearer £1500, their will be a lower limit to his quote and a realistic upper limit to his quote depending on area.
So to conclude I think an insurance forum would be very useful :)
sorry for droning on

I wouldnt say the Forum would look more cluttered. Yes sometimes people post stuff in general chat instead of the correct forum, but this is only a small minority of people.
I think that the Insurance Forum could unclutter the General Chat Forum as there always seems to be a few there kicking about, is usually is just general chat but that topic seems to come up a hell of alot, which is why i suggested it.

I think its a good idea, im a Insurance Claims Handler and work with insurance all day and can say that there are only a few insurers that will insurer modded cars, maybe it would be a good idea to have one for advice and suggestions in the case of accidents and also just for info about quotes, there are thousands of insurers out there but most are the same company, if we have a list of ones that will insurer modded cars it would be helpful and would save people alot of time.
