2. I become carless

it wont snow here, untill the rest of the UK has ben covered for atleast 3 weeks!
THEN we might get a little dribble of it.
THEN we will wake up, and be fecked...and everyone wil be like "OMFG SNOW" " I NEED TO GO FOOD SHOPPING" and all the other usual crap they do, when its not even 3mm thick, so it hardly effects our day to day living.

the snow just makes it acceptable to more people.
tbh, i like driving in the snow, its when the dippy fuck infront has an accident because they think going faster would solve the problem, which stresses me the feck out!

I have found a huge open space with smooth floors near me. There's also a tap on site.
I WILL cover the place in water and have copious amounts of fun in the mx5, If i can get there.
Newbie drivers - take it easy and don't think you're better than you actually are. It's completely different driving in the snow and you have to be 10x more aware than normal. Best advice is to brake using the engine and only use the foot pedal when you absolutely have to and stay smooth.

what have you got?
if driven well by a good snow driver, a 1.1 should get you pretty much anywhere.
I managed in my GTi and never got stuck once. But I live somewhere that gets horrendous snow so I've been snow driving for years.
Just takes practice.

I used to take my cars to industrial estates and purposely lose control of the car to learn how to control it.
Best practice I've had. My saxo was great 2 years ago.

Nothing worse than being on a slight incline and the dosey bint in front deciding to put her foot down and basically wheelspinning while creeping backwards and your stuck in a traffic queue!

That's what I find too, you could be driving perfectly but as soon as somebody infront panics and decided to stamp on the brakes or starts spinning up - you're fecked.
If I'm approaching a hill I'll build momentum and keep revs low, coming down a hill I'll keep the car in 1st or second and let it engine brake it's self slowly down the hill.

This is the best idea for declines I find, don't touch your brakes if you can help it.

2nd / 3rd gear are your best friends in the snow... unless your coming down a hill, then first is very useful.

I passed the day the snow started in november last year, it's a good way to keep you in good practise! But honestly anybody new to driving in snow GO SLOWLY! It's terrifying the first time you do.
