Hi people I'm Mike from Harwich, Essex. I've just signed up to get some more information and hopefully get a saxo!

Basically I'm looking for a cheaper car to run which also looks pretty sporty. Always liked the Saxo VTR so been looking at a few.

Is there any things to look out for in particular? Apart from the usual stuff like service history etc. When is the cambelt recommended to be changed? Any issues with the VTR Engine?

I'm looking at a T reg one which has done 122K and only thing wrong is that it needs a set of tyres up front?

Sorry for all the questions, just wanna know what to look out for.

Hopefully soon I will be showing some pictures and attending some meets :y:

hi :) i think knackered axles seem to be the main problem with saxos, and rust, especially in a t reg. how much are you paying for it?

Dont listen to Nicole, shes a girl and dosent know anything.

Axles are the more common fault with Saxo's and they do get rusty, check the rear arches and under the fuse box and ECU also near the jacking points. Have a check around.

Thanks guys

Guy popped round but was too dark really. So he is coming back on sunday as I want my mechanic friend to go over it for total peace of mind!

As it standard its needs:

Tyres - the guy is going to put some on
Rocker gasket - small leak but easy to do
Drivers door doesn't always unlock from the fob? Any ideas?

It sounds sweet as a nut. I will have a good poke around on sunday in daylight lol.

Needs a good clean but not a problem as I love detailing cars.

Any thoughts on the fob? And did they come with spoilers? Thought they did but this one hasn't got one? But again easy enough to sort.
