this is my first guide so it may be a lil rough and patchy.
iv only just done this as i got it into my head i wanted to re-trim my roof lining so sorry for the dark pics as i said iv only just done this.

anyways, the guide:

tools you need are:
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00564-20111006-2057.jpg
flat head screw driver,
T27,
T20,
T10

you need to remove everything you see on the roof lining, visors, handles, sunroof handle if you have one etc. i started from the back.
so what you will see at the back is same on both sides just a handle and a hook. remove them, the hook has a just the one T20 torx screw holding it in place so undo that:
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00545-20111006-2007.jpg

as for the handle if you pull the handle forward (as you would if you was using it you will see to flaps clicked into place, use a screw driver to prise them out (from inside flicking out):
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00546-20111006-2009.jpg

which will reveal a T27 screw, undo that then do same for other side of the handle and the handle shall come away from the lining. same goes for the other 2 handles (3 in total: 2 rear and 1 front passenger [front passenger doesnt have a hook] so get all these off)
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00547-20111006-2010.jpg

as for the drivers side theres just 2 caps plugged in, unplug with a flat head screw driver:
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00548-20111006-2016.jpg

i then moved to the interior light and sunroof handle. start by popping out the light with a flat head:
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00551-20111006-2022.jpg
and undoo the plug (just pulls)
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00552-20111006-2023.jpg
if you have a sunroof follow this bit if not then baragin, skip ahead

start by opening the handle like so you will see a T20 screw, take that out
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00549-20111006-2018.jpg
then just pull the handle down and the disc, could use a flat head if you struggle but it pops down easy enough.
you will then see inside there are 2 more T20 screws on either side of the coil bit in the middle (sorry dont know its name) take them out
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00553-20111006-2024.jpg

infornt of the handle i had a blanking plate but some have i think is a sensor or something so if you have one of them sorry im not sure on how to remove it but will most probs be like the interior light but dont count on me on that.
anyways as for the plate my flat head was to thick to pop it out 1st so i got my figers up in where the interior light was bend my fingers and push down on the plate just enough so i could get me screw driver under there, then pop that out
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00555-20111006-2027.jpg
which will reveal another T20 bolt and you guessed it.... remove that
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00557-20111006-2029.jpg
everything should now have been taken off the interior light/sunroof surround so get a screw driver behind the trim and pop it off (if you notice on the pic the blank plate is still on this is just because i tried popping this off before taking the plate off, at this stage your plate or sensor should have been removed.)

http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00554-20111006-2026.jpg

now move onto the sunvisors. on the side that holds the visor on there are 2 T20 screws holding it in place remove them (same for both visors)
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00558-20111006-2031.jpg
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00560-20111006-2032.jpg
then for the hook they clip onto this has one T10 screw in, again same for the other side
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00561-20111006-2034.jpg

everything should now be off the roof lining and the fiddly bit begins, some people dont do this but i found it easier....
the rubber gaiters around the windows just pull them down a little
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00562-20111006-2044.jpg
the A, B and C pillers just pull away very slightly at the top (be careful not to pull to far or you may crack or snap them.
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g432/mcjacko1987/saxo%20roof%20lining%20guide/IMG00563-20111006-2044.jpg

I HAVE SKIPPED A BIT WHILST DOING THIS MYSELF, ANYWAYS AS TOLD BY bedford126 AND AlexB THERE ARE SOME BOLTS IN THE SUNROOF TRAY, AS SAID BY AlexB'' if you open the sunroof 2 t20 torx and 6 7mm nuts in the edge''. sorry for this i will try add this to the guide at a later date

now jiggle and pull at the roof lining in several places, if you have a sunroof you may find that the lining is glued around that area but the glue is very very week so should peel away easy enough.
once you have the roof lining clear from all the pillar's open your boot and take it out.
if you wish to remove the sunroof cover just slide it back and pull it out the rail on one side then the other side should come free.

as i said this is my first guide and done it in the dark so sorry for any mistakes etc. hope this helps some of you out

also if anyone that has created roof lining re-trimming guide (i know someone has but cant remember who) feel free to copy this guide onto there or post the link on there :y:

Mate hate to say it but you still not done it correctly there are something like 8 8mm nuts in the sunroof tray that need to be undone then the full headlining will come away with no forcing and the full black plastic sunroof re-in forcement and slider guides will come off all in one with the headlining.

But you pulled the black bits that were glued to the rear of the liner away. no need to disturb the glue.

if you pull it off the glue with a sunroof you break the headlining

They are the black plastic bits that are bolted to the sunroof frame. They give support to the roof liner and also are the slider for the sunroof slider board.

Really need to stick the black supports to the headlining with a polyurethane sealant. It supports the full weight of the headlining.

so carpet glue wont be strong enough?

Bedford126

Nope not the spray glue. Unless you got the high temp stuff wassy recommends then the material on the head liner wont last long too.

iv edited the last bit of the guide then thanks for the help mate. the spray glue i got is strong stuff, done door cards with it and its staying in place very well. iv got a glue gun which obv produces high temp glue so maybe if i use that round the edges that will help hold the material (which is only light anyways) and hold the bit of the roof liner that was glued which i peeled.
