View Full Version : Overheating issue

Had this problem for ages now. I changed the radiator because it was literally a cheap option and someone suggested it to me. It originally would overheat after 5-10 minutes of running when stationary, when moving it would cool down to about 3/4 of the way up the gauge. After changing the radiator it would last 45 minutes or so, and now its back to the 5-10 minutes.
I've noticed the fan isn't kicking in which is probably the main reason it's overheating, but anyone have any issues similar to this? Or could anyone list the cheapest to most expensive possible fixes please
Many thanks,
Conan

Is the heater blowing hot?
Has the cooling system been fully bled???

When starting the engine do you hear a water noise? as i would imagine if its over heating within 10 minutes of starting its an air lock... search for my guide on how to bleed the system..
did you remove the thermostat and test in a hot mug of water to check it opens? did you flush the engine with a hose?
and as above if the heater is not blowing hot air, try checking the antrifreeze mix
also if the fan is not kicking in.. fan switch is a common one
