Another what car thread

Am putting the m3 away in the garage for the winter as she's to much of a beaut to face the harsh weather being RWD.

I've got £3k saved up and am after something still with a bit of poke, I've narrowed it down to either a Civic Type R or Astra Gsi turbo, has anyone owned these two cars and can tell me which is better buy regarding fuel and relaiability and the better car maybe to re-sell next year.

No interested in any other car's before people pipe up saying Clio's or VTS's etc :fcuk:
