anyone able to help me unlock my drive? i have two xbox's, i have a hitachi drive, or i have erm another one which has a white front on it :/

alternatively can anyone unlock the hitachi drive for me tonight? i have it out already :)

what do you mean unlock it? Does it only play DVDs just now? If so, you need the original drive to extract the drive key from - the mobo and drive have paired keys (alphanumeric codes), and if they dont match the xbox will play only DVDs.
