If your still insured for 2 weeks why don't you set the start date when that policy expires?

You can take the policy out now but the no claims won't be valid until your old policy expires so you would be driving round with an invalid policy.

It will be fine. They normally ask you to send it in the post. So by the time they verify your NCB it will be valid.

It doesn't work like that, especially if it's the same company!

You NCB is valid at the end of your current policy, not the day before

Chances are you will be fine but if you do happen to crash (unlikely) the day before that policy ends, they could void the policy
