wow, thats only 120mph, most cars are cpable of a lot more, just think on a national road your doing 80mph and others doing 60mph it could be horrendous

Woah!! Not that I go anywhere near that fast but the thought that two cars in a perfect head on could do something similar is troubling for me.

focus has never been so fast lol and if crashing head on with another car imo the outcome would be different, yes very bad but i think car would be in a different shape still fucked though.

120mph into an immovable object.
not going to happen on the motorway though really is it, especially consideing all the traffic is flowing in the same direction

Thats amazing to watch not in a sick way but as in a educational way it makes you realise how much your tempting your life if you go them sort of speeds, you have no chance

they should have done that with a saxo. see if they can find the car after the crash

A bit skewed. a wall like that is not designed to crumple and is not subjected to any movement on x y and z axis. Anything smashing onto that at 120 mph will be destroyed.
2 cars going at each other at a total speed of 120 mph will provide different results each time. 2 ford focus crashing against each other will not behave the same as a saxo against a range rover, and so on.

Gives you a perspective on the forces going on at 120 mph though.
As for not happening on a motorway, all you need is a lorry careering through the central reservation and you've got a 120 mph smash (assuming 50 mph for lorry and 70 mph for car)

Incorrect thankfully!! Two cars travelling at the same speed at 60 mph into one another doesn't equal 120mph, as you'd think! It equals 60. Crashing a car into a wall at 60 will have the same impact as crashing the car head on into another car both travelling at 60 mph, the only way you'd get a crash like this is to be travelling at 120mph!
My sources? Mythbusters haha! ;):drink:

Was anyone able to watch this without skipping to the crash :P.
I did say fooking hell, considering I was doing 110 the other day, this has changed my view on speeding alot. That is a deterrent enough for me. Thanks for maybe saving my life.

I'm not brave enough to picture it!! Scares me too much!
EDIT: Did think how about a mini...then realised mine at least won't do 80 let alone 120 :homme:

If that was a Saxo it would of disappeared all together. That is horrendous!

If you go faster, would there be a point where they would be no car left?
Most recent pics of crashed have been 100-120mph and the front is obliterated, the engine seems to have gone, and thats a solid lump of metal basically.
If they crashed say 180-200mph, what would happen?
