i cant see many clubs paying over 8m for a 30 year old no matter what his record is like. I agree if they really want to bolster a challange in the premiership to get torres but i'm sure liverpool wanted him and athletico madrid said they want in the region of 25m which in my eyes means if any english club gets him its gonna be chelsea

I am a United fan myself and i expected it to happen this season to be honest.

He was a great player for us a couple of seasons ago, but ain't done much recently. I think he's now 29 so he his getting past his peak of his career.

United should now sell him for around £15m, buy Torres because he has great potential and then buy Michael Carrick aswell.

Carricks ment to be setting them back 15 million or something daft, for me, Gattuso would be well worth gettin rather than carrick, hes like roy keane, just better, or even gettin hargreaves over carrick, hes a good player, but i dont see him as a top top midfielder.

Raphael Benitez has hinted about buying another striker before the transfer window closes. If he does get defoe, with Bellemy upfront, I think Liverpool will improve again over last season.

Thats IF they buy him. Torres will be a great signing for anyone!
