Today me and my brother were helping out with some gardening work, making a pond... and we kept hearing squeaking noises... after awhile we started to get annoyed by them, and had a look around to see what it was... we originially just thought it was birds or something... but it wasn't... there were kittens!!! stuck between the side of our shed and a corner of our house... after about half an hour of lying on top of the shed with a fishing net, and after lifting a few planks of decking (in front of our shed) the three kittens were recovered... there is no sign of a mother though... we didn't have any cats until today...

We took them to the vets... and were recommended that we looked after them, so we are hand feeding and rearing them... they are gorgeous! the vet reconned they were about 2 weeks old...

Just thought i would share the story with you!

Here are some pictures..

For the record it wasn't me that left you bad rep... i can take a joke ;)

Besides there is no water in the pond yet... have merely concreted the edges...

For your info... i will not be drowning them or killing them in any way! they are far too nice!

Suie
14th July 2006, 21:47
well done furio.. you keep them safe!!

furioAL
14th July 2006, 21:51
The vet also told me that they need feeding every 3 hours, even at night...
They meow light crazy when they are hungy... i bottle feed them, then they just go straight back to sleep...

It's like having kids.... and i thought keeping a tamagotchi alive was hard work...! lol!

Im sure it'l be worthwhile though!

Yates
14th July 2006, 21:58
2 bad reps, people should really learn to chill out it was a joke for fuck sake

Simo
14th July 2006, 22:00
Matt, maybe people take offence at what you sometimes say... wheher you think its funny or not.

You're not bothered about rep anyway are you, so just get over it. ;)

Yates
14th July 2006, 22:02
im not arsed, doesnt bother me, but if someone thought i was serious then they really need to sort themselves out...thats the point im tryin to make

Simo
14th July 2006, 22:04
I think you have this the wrong way around.

If you say something and people take it at face value and take offence, then its not their problem you said something offensive. Its yours.

Anyway, seeing as you're not arsed the thread should return to talking about little fluffy things.

aye good job, wonder how they got there.. wouldnt they be your neighbours or somethin?

Vet said not to go around asking the neighbours as she reckoned everyone would claim ownership of them... she said they would be worth a fair bit of money (no im not doing it for the money... they aren't for sale)... if the kittens mother returns we will of course return them... but it seemed they had been rejected/abandoned as they were calling for food...

Will definately take care of them :Y:

lol aww. My cat was like that once, we got it off a farm because its mum got run over by a tractor. She had kept em on top of the cupboard in the spare room and the owners didnt know about them till they fell down the back of the cupboard lookin for their mum and got hungry. One of died and one was close before the owners heard the whining. We took the third one which was in good health as they wanted the poorly one. Anyways :homme: story over lol

They are doing great mate! they were all pretty tiny when we first found them yesterday... they obviously hadn't been fed for awhile... we know that a cat from our estate was hit by a car recently and it was a similar colour to these so we think the mother was killed... :(

Fed them at 2am before going to bed and was then up again at 6am this morning to give them breakfast! but they are doing great now... they all have belly's on them now! and are alot perkier...

Do what you gotta do mate... whore isn't a swear word mind.

Double standards.... yeah, thats exactly what it is. (sarcasm)

Are you trying to take over from alicia, with the inability to accept a wrong doing and deal with it, instead of constantly retaliating?

They sound great Al......what a lucky find! Pics are adorable too!

The only thing I found when cleaning out the pond was a frog! - And frogs scare me! Glad you're giving them all the attention they need too, they sound like they need about as much attention as me lol! :P

Those kittens are gorgeous, my girlfriend loves the grey one!!
I bet they are hard work but will definately be worth it.
i love cats, they are so much fun, wait till they are about 10 weeks old, they will be a right handfull.

The hard part will be parting with them!, what you going to do? do you already have homes for them or are you planning on keeping them.

furioAL

Well we are going to keep them all together for awhile until they are more grown up... then it sounds like the original plans are we are keeping one, and each of my sisters are having one... so i wont really be parting with them as such :D:

If you bothered to read the thread before you posted a reply you would find out that the mother is no longer alive... and had we have left them there they would have starved... so naturally we didn't leave them there... once kittens have been handled and bottle fed by humans it is likely they would be rejected by the mother anyway...

Thanks for the positive comments guys... i will keep you updated with pictures as they grow older :afro:

After my steve irwin style rescue technique of clambering on the shed and with a few days rest and some food down them the kittens look a lot healthier so i thought i would take a better pic as the others i took werent that good.
enjoy people
