There loads of posts about how peoples cars are progressing and what new additions they have, why not have a dedicated section to this?

is a good point like my local car club has they have a dedicated category where only they can post in their thread and have a supporting thread in the general section where people can comment, as you can see the progress more clearly without trawling through 50 odd pages of peoples comments

Yes... Sax-p has the "Members Cars" section. Members normally have a thread running as well.
