im playing battle field atm and tbh im very dissapointed, the maps are huge, you get stuck at one place move to another and then the fights back where u just where! guns feel sluggish, accuracy's hard to pin point, the recoil on the guns is just annoying. There are good points to it though, but cba to list them! roll on mw3, im a social gun gamer, fucking running across a massive map to shoot at one bloke who's already seen you coming and popped loadsa caps in your ass :/

People keep comparing mw3 to bf3 but they are completely different really, bf is very realistic as a result of this it can be frustrating. You have to play it differently to cod it's much more tactical

I've just pre-ordered it from TescoEntertainment. They tend to send the game out two days early so it comes on release date, but countless people I know have recieved games early this way, so fingers crossed. Why? i felt the same and after 2 nights of sitting down it is actually a awesome game! the jets are hard to fly yes and it must be nigh on impossible to gun folk down on the battlefield but yano. :homme: tactical game. you not tried TDM? very similar to MW2 quickness tbh.

Just seen some of the IGN MW3 live feed. It is fucking IDENTICAL to black ops in every single way.

Same weapons, same game modes, even the maps look very similar.

Battlefield will have it this year hands down. At least that is actually a new game an not just a rehashed version of a lesser game.

I've been playing on line last night and today. It's good. Nothing amazing though, just like a tweaked MW2.

The assault and support kill streaks are really good.

You do seem to die faster though, less tolerance for soaking damage and running away like a girl.

Actually loved mw1, but since then, apart from maps/weapons/killstreaks its all been pretty much the same. :n:

Stopped playing after mw2 really, used to get so frustrated with noob tubes, commando, stupid spawns, campers, martydom and generally run & gunning. Oh and NO-SCOPING - trying to play S&D, down to the last guy on your team, and you see him desperatly trying to no-scope someone, instead of a simple kill to win the game!! :wall:

I'll give it a rent to play through the single player and maybe give online a quick go, but then straight back on BF3! :drink:

That's what real noobs do. I'd much rather that than empty a clip on someone and them not die. More realistic to and much more tactical.. For example you think twice before making a run across open ground (even if it is COD) because there is the possibility you might actually die before you get to cover on hardcore mode.

Gonna follow this up, :P, its slightly harder as its all about the draw speed and accuracy, but so is core mode. You dont need to empty a entire mag onto someone to kill them, most guns are 2 or 3 bullets in the chest. I used to play hardcore all the time but found more of a challenge in core.

Don't be stupid. On Hardcore if I shot someone in the foot once with a USP they would die. Standard mode encourages you to actually aim a gun and choose them on their accuracy and recoil etc. I.e M14 and FAL!!

That's what I mean. On Hardcore they will use the skorpion etc with the fire rate as that's all they need.

On Black Ops I use the FAL on normal mode as it is deadly accurate and 2-3 shots will kill.

Commando pro and Tac knife aren't on Black ops. lol

Got it ended up going to sainsburys, there was around 50 people queuing I got their at 11:40 and was out by 12:10 played 3 games online and i've done the first mission on story mode. Like a few people have been saying it does seem like an upgrade on MW2, quite gutted you can't create your own emblem like black ops tbh.

From what iv heard, its MW2.5.. Didnt mind MW2, but i was sick of people camping with a heartbeat sensor, round the corner from a door way.. My way of playing is full on attack, never stop moving, and dropshot..

Doesn't that make it better? They've turned down the power of grenades, launchers and explosions so I'm all for the extra bits in levels and less open space - if it stops snipers just camping at the back of levels as they ALWAYS do then thats a good thing

It boils my piss when people compare BF3 to MW3 by saying "MW3 is the same as MW2 and MW1" as a criticism.. I don't know what people expect.. It's almost certainly the most highly anticipated and hyped game of all time (as is each new iteration).. Why change a winning formula? In fact I'd go as far as to say you can't. It's too late now. They should have kept the wager matches as they were fun but apart from that everything else about black ops was shit. I think MW3 still does the recording for theatre mode. Glad they fucked off the zombies mode though as that was pure garbage

What got me with black ops was it wasnt very "realistic" shall we say. Not that I'm saying the modern warfare series are, but its at least semi-believable. I have to agree though Black ops was great, might not be a s polished as Mw2 but it was 110% authentic and detailed finely, already been over thiskind argument with young John G, i thing Tryarch tried to make the game fairer buy doing away with quick scoping only having 2/3 rockets and noob toobers all good some of the levels were camper city but all in all a fine game IMO ofc.

Thats generally the rule of thumb, team goes one way, i flank the other. Get assassin pro, blind eye, silenced guns, and you'll never appear on the map :y:

Try using the L118A, by far the best sniper, aims from straight up, so easy to quickscope, I sometimes hardscope (look through scope for long periods) but good maps would be:
Seatown- from the house in the middle, or upper house of the map, with a balcony, which gives you views of two sides of the map.
Dome- Down stairs in bunker, aim up, great place for domination.
Arkaden- Under the stairs at main building, there is a burger joint, behind the counter, can snipe all the way down
Bakaara- From inside helicopter, snipe upwards of the map. Alternatively, building on the right of the helicopter, stairs leading up to the building, can see straight across the middle
Bootleg- Under the pipe bit, from behind the concrete block
Carbon- from the top of the map, go down to the left, take the small path leading off, through the crate, and you can snipe basically the whole of the bottom of the map, make sure to crouch
Lockdown- A lot of areas
Fallen- House with the triangle bits on the roof, building to the south of the map, two windows, or between gap in north building, or building to the east of the map
Interchange- From under the bridge, a lot of places

Became bored as you can tell from writing these.

Other maps have sights but not much experience on them as i decide to use the M4A1 on those

I got annoyed exactly for that, so I started playing HC TDM and HC Team Tactical. S&D gives you shit points now, it used to be 500 a kill, its the same as TDM- 100.


But 4 assists= 1 kill, Hardline pro 2 assists= 1 kill

So use support streak

Yeah, thats the problem with all sights really, but if you can, use bouncing betty, or claymore ay 56 iirc, to cover you arse.

If you're in a team,m then they should have you covered by the flanks.

No problems about the spots, but you can usually tell where high traffic area's are, just need a secluded spot off to the side, to snipe across, for example, in fallen, on the roof with the triangles, you can go prone top of stairs, and have sights over bombs site B, or access to the majority of the west side of the map.

Just finished campaign although it still says 50% complete! Is this due to intel packs etc?
Been playing online for 2 days and I'm level 29, favourite gun so far is UMP45 with rapid fire and a silencer. I've got Assasin on too so I generally go the opposite way to the rest of my team and flank the bastards. Nobody see's or hears me coming so it's quite effective.

Trying to get to grips with the sniper atm, any maps you'd suggest? I've had a few headshots etc but need a sniper friendly map ideally.

Ive played this game for about 4 hours online and level 42, found it easy to rank up compared to Black Ops.

My first impressions to this was WOW, AMAZING & I LOVE IT.

Although after nearly 4 hours play it seems to be a little more like mw2 than i had thought...

Thats obvs not a bad thing at all and I do love it and will carry on to play it :A:


Im still getting used to all the extra bits and different perks / guns / ranking up system for guns etc etc.
