well with crimbo coming up where very short on money but battery needs replacing, its got to the point where if my cars off for a couple of hours then theres not enough battery power to start the car. if i turn engine off but leave headlights on for 10mins, again its to dead to start.
im charging it everytime before i use the car.
so need a cheap replacement.
is the one in the link ok or a waste of space? specs look same as a £67 halfords one.
if this is utter crap anyone have a link to a cheep one thats half decent just to last untill after crimbo and got more money to spend on a decent one?

Cant see the link becasue at work but basically the difference between a cheap and expensinve battery is the lengh of time of will last. A cheap one will be okay for 3 years at least though so so ahead - It will suck charging the battery in the snow and stuff mate and your alternator will be banging out the amps trying (without sucess) to charge your knackered battery and that won't so it any good

yeah, it's a bosch so you should be fine. Avoid hellfrauds whenever possible. Then I always recommend to "upgrade" to a saxo 1.5d battery. It's slightly wider (still fits fine) than the petrol ones but gives 30 more amps. You notice a difference when using several electrics(i e your lights, car radio, rear demister, power windows etc) at the same time. The car also starts instantly and runs better whether it's summer or winter.
Basically they can handle a bit more abuse over the years and will last longer. Done that on my 2 previous cars and never had a single problem or electric weakness.

shop around to see if you can find a 60+ amps saxo diesel battery at a decent price. I'm pretty you won't look back. Just a tip: I always look for amps, not brands (though the halfrauds brand is made of wishful thinking and sticky tape technology)

oh as im on the subject of the batt. can the way my battery is atm effect fuel consumption by any chance? reason i ask is my car failed mot on emissions, i changed lambda sensor, spark plugs, fuel filter, injectors and rail, coil pack. car was off road for 3months which is when the battery went flat. but now the cars passed mot it seems to be drinking more fuel. it passed emissions with flying colours compared to when it failed, but surely i would get better mpg with better emissions, not worse mpg with better emissions.
