squeck noise when change gear

Hiya there iv got a saxo xs i get a qreak noise when im changing gear as if it sounds like its dry or no fluid in it which i havent checked although all gears go through fine and theres no problems going through the gears:wacko: ? does anyone know what this could be

My gear lever squeaks, it's just the gear linkages need a bit of lube or maybe some new uprated ones. When your gear lever is in neutral does it flop about a bit? If so it's probably just that.
If it's not that, my other half has a saxo desire and when she's on and off the clutch there's a loud horribly screech noise, and it's the exhaust moving in the mounts, not managed to stop it yet though. To check that just grab hold of the exhaust and give it a shake

need to refine your description, a "creak when changing gears" is too vague. Could be:

gear stick
linkages
box
clutch
clutch cable
fitting kit on exhaust between cat and middle pipe
etc

hiya mate how do i put lube on gear linkige and na dont really flop when in nutrial lol il try put lube on the gear linkage cant be the gearbox as goes through every gear smooth

you didn't answer. It could be a number of things aside from the gear box. Please read the stickies for tutorials. If it's your gear lever squeaking then get under it and use some grease, not lube.

ok mate i will try that and cant really describe it lol it just creaks sometimes when change gears as if something is rusty or dry

Can you locate the noise at all, like is it squeaking when you move the gear stick or pressing the clutch pedal. As I said, could even be the fitting kit between the cat and mid pipe..

hiya mate.

I have same problem on my vts. Its the gear linkages needing lube. I sprayed lube onto the linkages you can see from the engine bay and it quietened it for a while. Gets to be a right pain in te arse after a while doesn't it

lol yeh dav glad got a sterio and manu cheers for your reply it happens only when i go through the gears so its from gear stick
