View Full Version : kent cam problems in a furio can anyone help!!!!

hey guys i dont come on here much but ive gots stuckwith my saxo - maby some of you can help....... i have a 1.4 furio mk2 and just baught kent sport injection cams, the car starts ok and ticks over but the tappets are loose as f*ck and cant be adjusted.....

main problem is that a TDC the tappets have now play but when the piston is at the bottom there loose any suggestions

also have suspicions of spring bind..... where can i get new springs from (any tips)

does any one know if i need new injectors and fuel lines to suit the kent cam, if this is the case what fits and were can i get them from

i kno its only 1.4 and people keep saying get a vts lump but ive gone to far to go back ... if ya can get back to me that ould be great x

Are you adjusting the tappets in the right sequence?

No.1 exhaust valve fully open - adjust No.3 inlet and No.4 exhaust.
No.3 exhaust valve fully open - adjust No.4 inlet and No.2 exhaust.
No.4 exhaust valve fully open - adjust No.2 inlet and No.1 exhaust.
No.2 exhaust valve fully open - adjust No.1 inlet and No.3 exhaust.

You probably already know but cylinder 1 is at the gearbox. When the valve is fully open, the rocker arm for that valve will be at its lowest point.

Check the cam spec sheet for the valve clearances as I don't they'll be the same as standard.
