Im looking at selling the sax but im only 3 months into my years insurance.
If i were to cancel it would i get a half decent bit of money back or do they offer you some really shite amount. Insurance was £800 odd so would be happy with like £600 maybe. Is that realistic??

Also could i just insure sa different car and pay the difference if it were more?

Any help is appreciated as always! :y:

if you cancel, you get an amount back. how much is hard to say, it will vary on company.
if you want to insure the new car, then you pay the difference, or get refunded the difference.

There will be a percentage you get back minus a cancellation fee usually.

Say 50% back if cancelled after 3 months minus £25 admin charge for example.

Need to ring them and ask mate.

I cant remember which car it was but I cancelled after about 4months of ownership and I got a full refund, every single penny I paid in the first place, no admin fee's either. I was shocked, sure it was a mistake!

It will be detailed on your acceptance letter the insurers sent you. They are legally obliged to provide you with at least quarter, half and three quarter period terms

wish that was the case with my old insurance. they cancelled it due to them not updating my policy with my direct debit details. my insurance was £800 odd and i paid £140 deposit and three installments of £70 odd.the third one bounced which i then paid via their automated service on my card. so surely the direct debit should of been set up by them for the 4th installment, not so i have been told and they didnt tell me, so paid so far £350 so leaves a difference of £450 roughly. they now have told me they want like £600 out of me. seems sketchy to me so informed insurance ombudsman who said they cant do that. waiting on the outcome as never had this before. insurance companies have always charged me a admin fee of like £50 and like say £50 outstanding for time covered

surely better to just transfer it to the new car? they give you money back if its cheaper anyway and you build your NCB quicker.

+1, I'd do this if I was you...

Otherwise that's 3 months of insurance wasted.

Yes, see what your saying, issue is a may sell up and not buy another car staright away as may use work van for a bit.

But yea would be kinda annoying as would loose the 3 odd months!
