I've used the search but found it a bit confusing..
Wanna do my conversion from 1.4 to VTR..but my car's a W reg crossover with mk1 engine..so will the engine also have to be from a crossover W reg because of the loom issues? i've heard if i just used a mk1 loom it will be no good as the sensors and connections for the clocks etc are different?

Just read again, Noo Noo Noo.
The engine you need is found in VTR models from late 1997 till 2000 dude, its the Silvertop 90bhp Mk1 8v.
NOT THE BLACKTOP.
AND NOT THE 98bhp Silvertop :)

Was looking at Jason to do it for me, everything supplied and iftted with cambelt and pump and tensioners etc, full service and new clutch for about £800..likei said, it's a lot of money since i don't really know much about engines.
My GFs stepdad knows a lot but he draws the line at full on conversions, he can do cambelts and clutches and stuff like that but while the engines out i might aswell get Jason to do it since everything's there?
Go to bed you fag :homme:

Buy a 16v you numpty.
Your insurance will be higher on a conversion than actually owning a "real" 16v. Plus it's all there, torsion bars, brakes, abs, airbags, electric mirrors, alloys...the list goes on..
You could pick a good one up for £1200, that's not much more really is it? Maybe less if you got in there first?

Question guys, i've been offered a very cheap VTR engine, box, ecu, interior and engine loom..since i need the 90bhp silvertop and this is the 100bhp silvertop, will i be able to use it if i have the interior loom as well as the engine loom? the car's a mk2

the 100bhp might fit if you use 90bhp sensors
