+1 i'll always recommend a 1.1 box over the others, they do seem to be a good all rounder! i've also had S1 Rallye and a VTS and i preferred the 1.1.

So a 1.1 box will b alright with vtr? Will I need to change anything with it?

should bolt straight up.

make sure you clip the release bearing in right place and check that it's serviceable.

Does it grind if you go up from 1st to 2nd or drop it from 3rd to 2nd or both?

Synchro is gone , if everything else is perfect and it doesnt bother you then you dont have to change the gearbox. If you do change it I would get a vtr box, cheaper than an s box and more common.

correct, expect 6 months out of it. Get a VTR box.
