Hello

I am far sighted and have struggled with vision problems since I was young.

I have a lazy left eye and weakish right one.

+6 in left (just to balance, little vision in this eye)
+4.25 in right

Can't see a post on this so wondered how bad other peoples eyes were?

mine are pretty good, never had a problem ever and family dont suffer/ wear glasses. I dont get headaches or any other tell tell signs of eye sight problems touch wood. Wouldnt know where to begin with eye jargon!! All i know is my mate wears contacts and the amount of money he pays for everything! fucking extorition!!! God hates his eyesight lawls.

I have no idea what my prescriptions have been but a few years back I was short sighted, couldn't see a thing in the distance. I had laser eye surgery and now have better than 20/20 vision, can ready the very bottom line on the eye chart :D very pleased with my vision now.

I haven't been to the Opticians for about 8 years. Ideally, I need to go again.
My eyes go funny every now and then.

Hmmm seems im in the minority then lol.

I am long sighted so struggle to see things close up without contact lenses!

Sucks that I can't have laser surgery either

I was going to say that that is some major eye disfunction you've got - no to laser? Why's that?

Mine is -0.75 (corrected by 2 steps over the last 2 years woop woop)

I have a stigmatism(sp) that apparently makes my eyes actually like rugby balls.

It means I see double, but I have done since I was born so I'm sort of used to it now.

Left eye is really bad, - 2nd line from the top and 3rd with glasses.
Right eye is short sighted - not to good without but with I can read the bottom line :)

Cant remember my persciption its been 2 years since my last appointment. This thread has reminded me to visit spec savers before xmas.

I can have laser on the right eye but not the left as it doesn't cure lazy eye, which is what I have.

Problem is that there is a risk with it (like 1 in 200 I think) so if it goes wrong then I will be legally blind due to my left eye not being able to read the top letter on the chart with or without glasses!

I am short sighted and wear a contact lens only in my right eye which is -1.5.

I was born with a cataract in the left eye which used to cause a lot of glare and was very uncomfortable in sunlight so I have no detailed vision in this eye at all even though I had the cataract taken out early this year. I hate wearing glasses and contact lenses are so expensive! I went to optical express in June 2010 and they pretty much refused to perform laser on my right eye because of the nature of the cataract in the left.

I think they would still refuse to do laser as my left eye has never learnt to process the image fully and I'm not sure if I could take the risk of having the op even if they were willing to do it.

don't worry mate i'm the same iirc if my eyes get 1/2 unit worse i'll be classed a partially blind :panic:

hope i'll be able to get lazer treatment as contact lenses are a no go for me cause it's about the same cost cause mine would have to be specially made :(
