Dude I saw you posted and was about to suggest it's the perfect game for you! :p. Only because it's totally offline single player.
If medieval/fantasy isn't your thing maybe not.. But I think it would appeal to most people. It is an incredible game. It's essentially the perfect MMO but a single player. I know that's an oxymoron but it's kinda true.. If it was an MMO with dungeons/raid and PVP it would be perfect. It's how WoW (and all MMO's should be) should be.
As it is though it's still probably the best RPG ever. The amount of content is unreal! Everything and everyone (NPC) is interactive, different, and has something to say.. There must be hundreds of hours of dialog, thousands of side quests.. It took me like a good 5 -6 hours just to understand the depth! The amount of options/skills/weapons/modifiers/spells/enhancements/everything available is brilliant.

i fucking love fallout, but never was a fan of oblivion.
the name is a bit gay as well, skyrim, dunno, just sounds like a badge of honour for the gay mile high community.

dont know what your on about, but its the best game i've played in a while. fallout 3 used to be my all time favourite game, but this is 10x better.
i recommend atleast giving it a go.

Lol Liam it was a joke regarding the sky, and a rim. Aka gay rimming session in the sky. Therefore Skyrim would constitute homosexual intercourse in an aeroplane.
Anyway, I like the idea of Fallout games but always seem to get bored of them. Walking for miles and miles with no weapons and enough cockroach meat to feed an army I think my tactics let me down. Skyrim looks a bit dungeons and dragons for me though. Medieval fantasy just reminds me of world of warcraft etc.

I take it that you've stared on the dragon words ?
What about the Dark Botherhood ... Have you joined it yet ? It was very easy to join in Oblivion just kill someone (ie the gold glitch by killing Dorian) then kill poor Rufio.
Have you seen there is a gold glitch already ?

I do appreciate the name is comical and slightly gay. But I also think it's pretty cool!

Mate you should try it first. Shooting fire out your hands and cutting some cunts apart with the biggest fucking sword ever seen (with gory slow-mo cutscences at times) is cool as fuck.

Bagged this last night, going to give it a whirl. I loved Falloot New Vegas, and Fallout 3 to a lesser extent (but still great) so looking forward to this.

Loving it so far, have oblivion and fallout so was always going to get it.
There is apparently over 400hours of game play, and that doesnt include all the mini missions and stuff. So its big enough and lots to do so you wont get bored. Burning people or shocking them is great fun.

yeah, well just kill them when i see them, dont set out to kill them.
not seen the dark brotherhood yet, wouldnt join them though, im a good guy lol.
not seen a gold glitch, wouldn't use it anyway. I don't even fast travel, i see that as cheating, plus you miss alot by fast travelling.
what level are you? im level 15

I'm still messing around with Batman Arkham City at the moment so I haven't even got into the game.
I find that Elder Scrolls is the type of game you need a run of hrs on it, the 30mins here and there doesn't wash with this game so I don't bother trying yet.

to be honest if you're getting skyrim and you like it, you wont need any other game, for a while at least.

As this is a totally offline game, if anyone has a semi capable PC I would recommend torrenting it to see if you enjoy it then buying it on console or whatever or just being a pirate and playing it on PC.
I'm about 5 hours in and it's a good game

its worked to some degree, still laggy in places. the further you get into the game the worse it gets, its to do with the data the game stores on your ps3, more data=more lag.

I dont know if its just me but i played fallout 3 which was my first type of game play like RPG. I then got bored and quit after getting to megaton city. Then about a year later started it again and OMG i fell in love but felt fallout 3 was lacking somthing then new vagas came out! I LOVE IT. still play it now love the whole western fell. Everything about it is amazing.
The difference with skyrim, does anyone else feel like they have no idea whats going on story line wise? its putting me off! everyone else knows about the old world and wars ect and im like "oh cool" i have slayed 3 dragons and learnt a few words in dragonish but it hasnt hooked me like fallout... maybe i'll get a second wind!

i still don't know the story fully after 100 hours gameplay, but feel free to ask questions, i know some of it.
Its part of a series of games, so when they talk about things that happened in the past it has sometimes happened in another game.

Yeah picked it up for £26 in Tesco, it's literally the same as Fallout 3, just set in a different era..and I love Fallout 3 so all is well.
Only annoying thing is that I haven't picked up on good ways to deal with combat yet so when i'm heading to places like that burial mound to collect something for the greybeards i got raped by mammoths.
I'm sure i'll be alright when i figure certain things out, i was the same in Fallout

i was alright when i had to fight the giants and mammoths as there a bit of rock you can stand on where they cant get you so i wacked out a bow and was a piece of piss doing it! till i toke an arrow to the knee :fcuk:

You're a cunt lol.
But yeah I would have used a bow at the time but by the time i realised i was heading towards mammoths, i turned around and had bandits and mammoths right behind me anyways :wall:
And also, i bought a horse outside Whiterun, but i can't see it? like i never saw it, the guy said it's the one that's saddled up and there was nothing there. However, i did steal a horse from those stabels to take me to the greybeards...so i'm guessing that sicne i stole it, it won't appear for me now? :zainy:

lol tbh happened to me alot till i was low on health so jumped up this rock to the top and was like hang on there running away!!!! so i toke full advantage of this and kept the arrows coming lol!
i could never get a horse i spend £££ on them but couldnt find them so killed the stable people and rode off on the horse.....

Only downfall with doing that is that most of the time the horse will run away when you get off it for more than 10 seconds :wall:

Skyrim is my guilty, geeky pleasure!
got my girl level 100 on 2 handed weapons, light armour and smithing. The smithing was purely so I could have dragon armour.
I've done the main civil war quest, the dark brotherhood and the mage college. I'm at the end of the thieves guild, I just don't want to give the skeleton key back :(
I can't find that many quests left to do now though!

once you've completed the dark brotherhood you get given your own horse, Shadowmere.
saves wasting moolah on horses!
never really been that much of a fan of horses though.
