try doing around 15 miles a week, thats like 1.50 per week in petrol, in a month thats roughly 6 quid in petrol
DarylVTR
17th July 2006, 10:00
wtf why do you only do that a week? wish i only used that much.
1 Trip to my gf's house and back again is almost 50 miles alone :(
when we split up i was spending sooooo less of petrol lol
Amiee

wtf why do you only do that a week?
cos i dont go driving it around for no reason, i either walk bike or use my dads car
no point using it when you dont have to
DarylVTR
17th July 2006, 13:06
thats cool wish i could do that, i must do about 25miles a day to work and back so one trip to work is more than you do in a month! shocking!
I enjoy driving thou, when im bored il go out driving it give me sommit to do but you realise how much fuel it wastes haha

That's nothing you big girl!
Mine is currently sitting at 60500 exactly and is sweet as a nut.
Milage means fook all if it's well maintained/looked after.

Exactly! But people always assume the lower the mileage the better.
But to be fair low mileage suggests a car that has only been used for short journeys meaning the car hasn't warmed up properly. Not exactly good for the engine. Motorway miles are never a bad thing if the car has been looked after
Mine's a '99V and has just done over 75,000miles and I've not had any problems with the engine
**Goes and waits for engine to blow up because she has tempted fate**

Right in a way, but then if you were buying a car would you rather buy one on 30k miles or 75k?! 30 i think
But then sayin its only used to short journeys means it may not of warmed up and damage the engine, thats just crap. I hardly ever use mine but its well maintained and cars all designed for short and long journeys, engine doesnt really take long to warm up either

Agree with Yatesy on how quick engine warms up on a VTR.
My car has 14000 on it, she warms up within 5 minutes so it's not too bad really.
Cloud - Your car is due a service haha!

I had my car in July 2005 it was about 24150 when i bought it, it is now 52500 miles, doesnt bother me as i know i have looked after it and serviced it so i "hope" it will do the same for me. My car is probably my main pass time if im bored i go out in the car, and as most of my friends live in nearby villages/towns i drive to see them its suprising how quick it clocks up. Also i did 17000 miles in the 6 months before that in my old saxo R.I.P
