Got into work and got a call on my mobile was my manager saying i wont be in today as im ill, which means i can work on my own and do wotever i like pritty much haha ...... love it! There is only me and him

Think il be on here most of the day as its about the only site i can get on, and just do jobs when / if they come in. Thats all he's asked me to do so easy day ahead for me but i bet its going to draggg ;)

Im studying it at college but want to do something diffrent at uni and everyone seems to tell me how crap IT is!

i must admit for long long i wanted to be an IT Technician and now i am one, its quite boring LOL - still alot better than where i was working (homebase) believe me nothing is worse than retail!!

Its weird working in a school its just like going back to school really, but it has a massive advantage. I have 6 weeks off after this week all PAID for school holidays WOOHOO

Don't get me wrong its an easy job, i was expecting it to be ALOT harder, but teachers just dont have a bloody clue about computers! not even the ICT teachers!

They get us to do EVERYTHING, if a piece of paper jams in a printer instead of just pulling it out, they will call us out to do it , its pathetic really....

2day i have installed a piece of software on a laptop and fixed a connection to a whiteboard apart from that there are no other outstanding jobs.

When my manager came in to pick up some stuff to work at home he said do wotever you want go on your 'saxo' thing all day if you like lol

When i was going my GNVQ i had to show my teacher how to do a macro becuase she had never done them!! I new more html that the website teacher too lol there was only one guy that actually knew his stuff :wacko:

Last year i was working in homebase all through it and i was baking lugging around heavy stuff and people getting shitty with me left right and center.

i get you, i feel like that most of the time, just a very good time to start 2 months in and then i have 6 weeks off, il be so used to bumming it at home that il hate trying to come back to work on 1st september....

cant efford a holiday, got debts to pay , im never gonna clear my debt on £10,000 p/a its only about £700 a month! ahh i owe about £500 a month in direct debits, DOH!!

Im going on the assumption my manager said he will be leaving probably next year so seen as im the only other IT Technician surely i should be apointed Network manager , therfore pay increase ;)

i might be looking at a pay increase by end of year anyway as my manager said he will push 4 it for me as they want me to be in charge of a whole department, how can they justify me being some1's 'assistant' when im not going to be working with them as such?

Another advantage of working in a school is as i work for Portsmouth City Council, we go up a pay scale each year which is around a £500 increase without fail.

£200 to dad rent

£97 car insurance

£102 to abbey for loan

£50 to mum

..... minimum credit card payments.

I cry every time i think about it lol .... £200 a month is a bloody push i normally end up writing a cheque for the last weeks petrol or borrowing some off my mum! grrr
