I used to have a big applicator pad that came with my wax. Fuck knows where its gone. I can just melt some wax in my hand and apply it that way, but it makes it look like Ive gone full retard.
Any opinions?

Best options are
Microfibre applicator pad (my person preference)
Foam applicator pad
Bare hands.....alot of waxes tell you to apply with your bare hands......however you will use alot more wax than you would using an applicator pad which is wasteful. Another issue i found is that my hands have rough skin which actually put swirls into my freshly polished/sealed paintwork....i wasnt best pleased.

I use a foam applicator, I wouldnt advice on using hand to apply some waxes as some are high in solvents and with continuous use wont be good on your hands.

Go to poundland and they sell 5 microfibre pads for a pound! Perfect for wax!

Does anyone else moisten their pads slightly before application? It's an old trick used with make up so that you don't use too much.

Hard wax lasts for ages so i dont really worry about using too much, wax repells water anyway so i cant see it working very well if the pad is damp

Ah I wasn't asking if it works, I know it works. Was just wondering who else did it.

Yep, I do that to the help hard wax spread more easily, thinly plus it uses less as you mentioned.

Got some turtle wax pads today, 4 for 4 quid. One for wax, one for tyre dressing, one for using on wheels and one for the interior. Nice big chunky pads too, Im happy :)
