View Full Version : Calling all green flat arch owners! Help..

Looking at my car and I can't help but to think it's a bit of a boring colour, with a bland body (flatty). Yeah I've looked at other flat arches but the colour makes an enormous difference. A posi blue flatty looks great, in the same respect that a green VTR looks great. But a green flatty? :(

Can anyone post what they've done to their green flat-arch models? I've looked around but there may be more up peoples sleeves! Really not sure what to do that would suit my car:

Any help appreciated :)

Some ideas for ya mate.
Smoke the front lights and get some smoked indicators to go with them.
New numberplates?
4 stud conversion
Lower it.
Alloys of some kind.
Colour matched mirror caps.
Smoked side repeaters.
Shorter Aerial.
Vtr/s/gti interior.
Gloss black bump stips or colour coded.

hmm.. cant think of anything else lol

Hehe thanks for the contribution. The aerial is already smaller and already has new numberplates XD instead of doing the 4 stud conversion I might just find a decent pair of 3-stud alloys for it, but again I'm not sure which ones.

I don't really want this to look like a modded sports car or anything (it's only a 1.0ltr), so smoking the headlights may put me off. I do like the clear angel eyes you can get though - they just look like upgraded headlights.

Talking to JDub about his car, and he thinks that it may be a good idea to fit a VT front bumper, VT front arches and skirts, but leave the back as is (too much work with cutting into body). I may do this..

These would suit yours mate. :) Black alloys would look nice.

But as he said, matching mirror caps, lower it, t-cut badges, even shorter aerial, and half vt kit would look sweet on that colour, you're lucky it's in such good condition. :)

I don't particularly like the standard reflector headlamps either.. look so dated it's unbelievable.

I'm doing a photoshop now of it with some extra subtle mods, and it already looks better..

Just did an animated photoshop preview below of some of the mods that I plan to do.

http://www.geraintthomas.co.uk/02.gif

Changes:

- Projector Headlamps
- Colour Coded Trim
- Colour Coded Mirror Caps
- Fog Lights
- 106 3 Stud Alloys
- Lowered 35mm

I've put this in my progress thread as well located here (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=399265&page=3). This thread is just for people to show their green flatty's! :)

I would go lower with some VTR wheels mate

I would but it's a 3 stud, and I'm not going to do the conversion.. it'll cost too much. I could just pick up a decent set of second hand 106 alloys for less than £80, a conversion and VTR wheels would cost more.

I did think about it though!

The bit I've never liked on a flat arch is the rear, the way that black strip runs perfectly straight across the back arch - eww :( I think spraying it colour coded may blend it in more. What do you think?

I would but I can't stand the straight black line running over the rear arch - looks so dated! :(
