Recently the gear change on my 1.1 mk1 has become a lot harder to push into gear, especially using 2nd. Any ideas why? Cheers

maybe worn linkages, is the gearstick wobbly?

Yes it is, is it difficult/expensive to replace the linkages?

if you open the bonnet and look down the back of the gearbox you will see all the linkages, grab hold of them and feel for any play, also on the gearbox ther is a pin that goes through one of the arms which can get worn out. the pin is something like 30-40 pence from citroen and around £50 for the linkages i think.
They are reasonably easy to change just a bit fiddly.

as said, the pin is the main cause of play in the linkages, but if your going to but a new set of linkage rods get some uprated ones. kam racing sets are only 45 quid i think :y:
