what do you guys think?
for example, do you think its good to have your separate things, or nice that you both enjoy doing the same thing in your spare time.
i'd love it if the bf was into horses too, i think he'd be more understanding and willing to help out :p
but were both into cars so ill settle for that, although i think he takes for granted he can talk about anything to do with cars to me without a second thought :homme:

A balance is best I think. Its good to have your own interests too to have time away from them. You are with each other in the first place for a reason if you dont have the same interests, so I dont think its essential to have the same interests.
I think this will be a split choice though, some people will think its good, some will think its bad. All personal opinion on this one.

oh i should have added a poll :(
also i think its good in the fact it makes for better presents as you know exactly what to get :A:

I'd say good and bad. It's good to have the odd difference as it's nice to have your own time etc.

I think a nice mix of both really, its good being able to chat and do things together but then its harder to get some alone time.

good, definitely good - you can watch TV and movies that you both like together, listen to the same music, go to the same bars on nights out, if you find out something interesting and tell her then most likely she'll be interested too etc etc
dont get me wrong though, we have our differences, like my girlfriend isn't really interested in cars, but she comes along to car meets and stuff, then again though, there are loads of us that go along together and we're all good friends so its sort of like meeting your friends (plus a few others) at the pub rather than a car meet...

I know she isnt keen on games, iffy with cars some music she likes is hideous.
But what the hell..

Faye isn't into cars but understands that I like having time to myself to work on them. I think it would be a bit much if I was with her all week and then had her working on cars with me too. Nice to get away from each other for a few hours doing your own thing every now and then.

Reminds me of an ex-girlfriend. She was into comedy films, stupid soaps and shite top 40 RnB only. And of course we had to do what she wanted all the time or she would make a loooong face. She was turkish too so zero common culture or knowledge didn't help for conversations. I like to drive nice and comfy when she would tell me to "drive faster" because her ex-BF had a fast Merc etc, despite having no idea of what a speed camera or good MPG was (she never put a single penny's worth of petrol in my tank despite considering me and my car like her taxi).
Yes common points of interest are a good thing lol.

Both really, you need to be into some of the same interests but also it's healthy for any relationship to have seperate ones as well.

Id say the same interests are a good thing! That way you can spend more time together and enjoy each other's company more.

I think a good relationship should have a bit of both worlds as said previous, its nice to spend time doing shared intrests with the other half, but having your own space and time to do your own thing is a must..

I think it's a good thing but as most have said that its nice to have time apart as well, if you think about the main reason people get together (other than sex) is because they share some characteristics.

My missus doesn't like cars or football. The one thing that pisses me off though is that she loves Call of Duty. I cant have a game in peace without her nagging me to have a go :n:

I don't think I have anything in common with my mrs, she is Italian, she don't like cars unless its a Ferrari or Fiat Punto. She hates it when I come home and sit on Facebook, Saxp, 106owners talking for an hour or two. She hates it when I play Playstation.
She also likes fashion, I don't. She loves arguments, I don't. She prefers wine on a night out and having one or two drinks, I like getting stupidly wrecked on beer, shorts and shots. She's rich as fuck. I love this.

There needs to be some alone time from each other or you will go crazy.
Just accept that there will be something things that your into be he isn't and vice versa.
All you have to do is act interested when they decide to tell you something about their "thing"

Girls should be locked in the kitchen and chained with a 7ft long chain to the oven door.
Lads should be watching the footy.
So my answer is no, we shouldn't have things in common

50/50; Me and the boyf both love cars (We're restoring a shagged mx5 at the moment) and we spend a lot of time together, but at the same time it's nice to have time apart and for me to be able to go out with the girls or sit and read while he plays Saints Row!

I play on PC so it would have to be the keyboard. Saying that, I think the tower be a better weapon to use, keep her quiet for longer ;)
