I crashed into another car last October in my Clio one week after passing, was my fault.
Anyway she had her car repaired and put in her compulsory claim for Whiplash etc.. that was done in about two weeks.
I reported the accident to the insurance company the day it happened, this was last October btw. they sent me a form I filled it out and attached a drawing of the crash.
Never heard anymore from them.
I phoned them in December asked them what was going on they said it was all in hand it's gone in her favour and will be finalised very soon.
Now, I crashed into her nine months ago and it's still not sorted out.
The only reason I'm not hurrying them is because I'm paying the insurance off monthly and when it does get finalised they'll want the whole policy paid off plus excess so I'm happy letting it drag out theres only a couple of months left now anyhow, I wont be renewing as I scapped the fcker in December lol.
Just wondering why they haven't contacted me asking for the excess etc.. surely it can't still be getting sorted, could they have forgotten about it lol?
Also will the crash be on my records now, I have decliared it to Quinn-Direct to be on the safe side but of course I couldn't tell them eveything as I dont know how it was settled and how much it cost.
seems pretty interesting!

Ring ring ring give them a ring and ask maybe? Your policy is with them and they are the only ones that can help you :P

prob dragging it out as your paying monthly and they want the full premium from you, as if they'd sorted it there and then you might not off payed full premium

It's within my intrest to drag it out as whatever happens I've got to pay the full premium if you crash that premium becomes due in full I have no problems dragging it out I just wondered why they are as it's not withing there intrest to as whatever happens the full premium is rightfully theres; they're getting it this way but they could legally ask for it all when I crashed.
PosiWestcoast is right, my dilema is I want to know whats going on but I dont want to make them pull their finger out until I have a bit of money behind me.
Just wondering if theres anyway they would just forget about it?

oh yes it will be on your records pal.... they are fuckers!... they will grant you a policy if you don't tell em at some ridiculous low price then when you crash they don't pay out as they miraculously only just found out or they then send you an invoice for the rest of the cash they want!.... they did it to my mom as she lost her no-claims because I crashed my car and she was policy holder on it... they gave her insurance for £92 then suddenly demanded an further £120 3 months later! expect those figures to be alot higher lol!... she declared she had lost the claims but did not state she'd had an accident as it was my car and me driving!... but they said it din't matter!... my mother has since swapped insurance companies! lol

isnt there a time limit for claims to be made? i say just wait when your 12 months are over swap insurers you can still put the years no claims on because technically you havent claimed or made a claim insurance are for ever screwing us over i say its our turn or yours really

Sweet yeah as in theory I've only advised them I've crashed, I wouldn't have known the girl I crashed into has had her car repaired if I didn't see her everyday as I've had no word from the insurance telling me they've paid out.
They didn't repair my shed either as one I was tpft and two it only cost £350.
As far they know I've still got it.as they asked me is it drivable which it was and I was still using it for a couple of weeks after I crashed but it was a blatent write-off as the wheel was bent inwards and the rear wing was so crumpled it was rubbing on a brand new Michellin tyre which I had on the day before - screwing.
I'm just hoping these last two months are quiet as the prospect of a yrs ncb is lovely.

Happened to me mate. I lost my no claims back in December when I had an accident and it is still not settled now. Had a letter from court and they are dealing with it. The way to find out what's happening is to ring them as they do not ring you with an update. Mine has not settled but is a lot of money so far. With some insurers you can say that the claim has not yet settled so choose that option.

You will loose your no claims as your insurance company has had to pay out, these sort of claims take a long time. I was in a crash back in November, (was in my mates car, when a taxi pulled out on us, not my mates fault) and i have still not got my pay out from the insurace. I had a letter the other day telling me they are waiting for the money, so they can send it to me. It will of taken about 10 months if i get it this month!
there is no way you will have your ncb though unless you pay your insurance company back for what they have had to pay for her, and i am guessing it will not be worth it as she will get around £1000 comp!
hope this does not piss on your fire, but i would call them to see what is going on, otherwise you may be left in the shit !
