real problem...HELP

went to work this morning car drove fine no probs wotsoeva, finished work n car battery dead so bumped it n drove home fine, a parked up knocked engine of and fired her bk up started fine but car was sitting at 3000rpm not gud so took it for a spin n drove as it shud nocked it off n fired bk up fine again but was reving at 3000rpm again, anyone know wot the problem is? :panic:

Sounds like a sticking throttle body/cable or the ICV isnt adjusting properly

Phew I need a drink after trying to read the op thread,but yes idle control valve either wants cleaning or renewing.

Try resetting the icv by turning the ignition on and off 6 times then start up on the 7th

Mine did this when i had a dodgy alternator.

I just unplugged battery for abit, that sorted it.
