Ive just changed all the inlet & outlet exhaust valves due to timing belt snapping, put it all back together, the car starts up but sounds rough as hell, could there have been more damage done to the head apart from the valves getting bent....Cheers.

I'd wager the timing is out. Was there piston damage?

Might quieten down with time as the new parts might need running in a bit. Did you check the pistons for damage? Also the valves might have damaged the head slightly when they were bent. Also the timing could be very slightly out. If it runs use it with caution keeping an eye on oil/water levels and see if anything develops

There was a little indentation on 2 pistons where the valves hit but looked ok

Think vts pistons have two little dents machined into them as standard to allow closer tolerances when revving fast but not totally sure
