hi guys, wonder if anyone can help me.
just bought a 306 d turbo and have a few issues with it.
1) clutch pedal has got an inch worth of play before it actually bites the clutch.
2) when braking, the pedal is near enough on the floor.
3) when turning the engine off, it jolts.
4) on the dash, what does the 'stop' light mean, mine came on for about 3-5 miles before fading out.
5) when locking the car with the fob (key in doors doesnt work), it locks both doors/boot, then straight away it pops back up but passenger door stays locked.
6) when giving it some beans, it doesnt go anywhere, it takes its time. would you say this is down to a possible turbo leak? or is it something else.
thats it for now, any ideas?
thanks
Danny

1. try and adjust the clutch pedal mate unsure if these are the same as a saxo/106.
2. now this is a big one check underneeth for any leaks is it drums at the rear? check the master cylinder for leaks.

Try bleed it danny, check the fluid in it also. The drum master cylinder are prone to failing so maybe that.

dont get me wrong, they are nice cars and can be easily tuned cheap enough, just this one has a few niggly problems. id like to at least get central locking working so i can lock my car overnight, dont trust it round here.
its on 192k but its a diesel, they run forever if looked after :)
will get pics of mine up in progress thread tomorrow, its lowered on 17's, ecosse spoiler and in gold, hardly a mark on her :)

1) clutch pedal has got an inch worth of play before it actually bites the clutch.
Sounds fine, adjust the cable if you need to.
2) when braking, the pedal is near enough on the floor.
Bleed the brakes, check for leaks and also the vacum hose
3) when turning the engine off, it jolts.
Common with pug deisels. Just how they are. If its really bad check engine mounts.
4) on the dash, what does the 'stop' light mean, mine came on for about 3-5 miles before fading out.
Handbrake one? Bad connection or earthing problem. If it literally says stop, then same again or just an intimitant pug fault which is common.
5) when locking the car with the fob (key in doors doesnt work), it locks both doors/boot, then straight away it pops back up but passenger door stays locked.
Theres a little lug in the door lock that often needs bending to sort this out. Something is preventing it from locking.
6) when giving it some beans, it doesnt go anywhere, it takes its time. would you say this is down to a possible turbo leak? or is it something else.
Start with a thorough service and checkover.

iv checked for leaks etc for the brakes, everything is tip top so im thinking about bleeding them.
the STOP light, i have no idea what it is, it isnt handbrake. thats the 1st thing i tried.
cheers mate about the rest of the list :) will check it all tomorrow/monday

i now know that number 4 +5 are related....door lock pin (doorcard needs coming off to check the rods)
number 6 was a turbo leak, it packed up on m1 this evening...turbo blown and filled the m1 with thick smoke (over £200 recovery and £90 for another turbo) :(
