iv just noticed my back box is hanging off my saxo 1.1 ( thought it sounded a bit beefy ha )
i was wondering would i be able to put a vtr/vts back box on to get a bit of a better sound without effecting emissions come mot or should i stick to a 1.1 box?

my exhaust snapped under the gearbox a few weeks back and when i looked closer it had loads of dents and splits where it has been hanging low and got destroyed by speed bumps, for a std replacement was 311 so instead i got a custom powerflow with a lifetime guarentee for 250 sounds good not to loud , id recomend this if you want a nice mot friendly pipe , also i didnt think vtr/s backboxes could be fitted to a 1.1 center

i'm pretty sure it would fit. my 1.1 standard system fits on my 16v 4-2-1?

its shearing off just before the back box, where the weld from the pipe meets the box. if theres no sound diff then il go for the standard box at 27 quid new i think.

is the centre pipe knackered then? as the back box has a donut shaped flange on the end for the centre pipe to sit over then clamps up

i got quoted £250ish by a place near me when i just enquired. i laughed at them, so hard.
went around the corner, bought the parts for about £70 and took a lazy day to do

Sportex do make quite a nice sound. I had one a couple years ago, not overly loud but better than standard sound.
Vtr and Vts backboxes aren't any louder than any other box.

if the main pipe has gone as well il just get a standard system for it. on a budget unfortunatly. espec with crimbo just aroound the corner.

Shop around a bit, prices vary massively depending where you go.
15 mins making a few phone calls to garages will probably save you quite a few quid.

yeah im hopeing it just the backbox, but i didnt know the main pipe sat over the backbox. so may have sheared. i dont mind doing the backbox myself but i dont have access to ramps or a pit so its fiddly getting under to do the main pipe as well. il have a look tomoro morning if its dry. thunder here just now wtf?

Haha! We've got massive winds and heavy rain.....lovely!
If you do need a new centre pipe, I think they're really, really cheap for the Sax.

i took it to etb tyres and exhausts. said its just the back box and would supply and fit for £60 i thought that wasnt a bad deal. plus its now all been cleaned and unrusted so if i want to go for a sortex back box at a later date its gonna be easier to fit.:y:
