With having 9 points, and only being 18 i cant afford to insure my vtr any more. So im going to put her up for sale.

I was just wondering what are the cheapest cars to insure? I'll have around a £1200 budget for the car?

Thanks in advance.
Jordan.

1.2 Clio - Cheapest I can think of off the top of my head. Even though other Saxos and things like Corsas have smaller engines (both available in 1.0), they don't seem to be as cheap to insure...

Wether my partner will allow me to get one or not is a different story, I know im not going to get much " street cred " as such, but really need to be back on the road before xmas, so just need anything for now. Cheers for that mate, big thumbs up!

Go for something more obscure like a skoda felicia or something haha...Or a rover 45, something the typical young person wouldn't drive is your best bet and is less desireable to most.

It's not all about engine size, some people find it cheaper to insure a VTS than a 1.4 Furio....it's all down to statistics and potential risk.

the cheapest of the cheap is the VW Beetle (old generation). But false economy, you would find yourself at the garage fixing it every other week.

Toyota starlet :y:

Or if you want to spend a little more on the car and save on fuel economy, insurance and tax then go for a Clio 1.5 dCi with it's 60mpg and £20 a year tax plus insurance group 3 insurance you'll defo save money. :y:

Fezzas are quite expensive, well they were for me to insure. Was 400£ more on a 1.4 fezza than a vts.

And i quite like the inbetweener cars :(

Groups are not a set in stone way of working out which cars are more or less to insure.

Several people on here have posted to say they can insure a VTS for less than a VTR, even though they are miles apart in insurance groups.

Whilst a group will have some effect, a lot of car insurance is done on statistics........so whichever car is statistically less likely to be involved in an accident or be stolen.
