hi, i have a saxo forte W reg, ive just had the radiator and head casket replaced. the car will not sit in idle properly, ill start up the car and the revs go to the normal 1000 point then dip right back down to 0, causing my car to stall, i took it back to the garage they adjusted my excelleration cable, this didnt help. ive noticed the cars stop doing it once its been running for 15 mins or more, but other wise everytime i change gear the pointer dips to 500 revs from say 3000 if i were doing 60mph in 5th and had to slow for a 40mph speed zone so drop gear. could it be an electronical fault? the heating doesnt work also this was something i mentioned to the garage who said it could be an underlying water pressure problem?? i have no idea! :wall:

sounds like you have an air lock in the coolant system if your heaters arent working which could be the cause of the revs dropping aswell if your temp sensor is getting dodgy readings because the water isnt getting to it

clean idle control valve theres a guide on here how to do it. if that dont sort it get a new one. try bleeding your cooling system theres 3 bleed nipples. 1 on thermostat housing alun key fits it 1 on top of radiator and 1 on the pipe top left of engine lika a valve cap. might sort your heater problem out worth a try. mines the same cant get it to idle right. im thinkin its the head gasket :wall:
