Firstly hi everybody, first post, go easy!!
Currently searching around for a mint MK2 VTR and the first thing on the agenda once I have been blessed is to get some quality rims and lower the car. I don't want it slammed but I don't want it to look like a pram either, so what's a good lookin' ride height? Oh & what rims work well, I love the black Team Dynamics range, any suggestions???
Ta folks....

50mm looks good lowered for my preference and handles well. As for rimms what ever your prefrence is 16's or 17's would fit without major arch work

Nice, can't be dealing with any archwork, think these rims would look smart n 16's...C:\Documents and Settings\Will\Desktop\alloy

17's is alot of arch work
if you want good handling go 35mm drop with 15's
if you want looks go 17's with 60mm drop
or comprimise with 16's 40mm drop might still need arch work

15's are tiny though or am I being fussy? Thinks it's gonna be 16's with a 40mm drop. Would a regular garage consider arch work?

think I will, my previous car was a Zetec S with Ripspeed 17's 9no arch work). Problem was I couldnt get full lock and with a car full of peeps any bump in the road would make a really loud banging noise (sucks). just want to be a bit more realistic with me sax..

depends if you want your ride to look or you want your car to be practical....their are alot of factors to take into consideration....i had kit on my car and it was murder on the roads and it was only lowerd 35mm on 16"s...so really decide what your main objective is style or practicality
i am down 40mm all round and have 16's with 40 profile tires with no arch work done and no rubbing. and a lower strutt brace helps loads as well for handling.
thats with spax springs.

what I posted was just a quick guide
I've got 17's on 60/80mm drop did the arch work myself, but you lose alot of things with 17's.
15's can look good if you drop 60mm, but you then have probs with power steering pipes and camber, but drop 35/40mm still look good and you can get your mates in the car, ride is not effected, handling is like a go kart.
16's are the compromise still get the looks don't get as mainy down sides as 17's

powerloss is a factor with 17"s unless your going for a light weight wheel and unless you wanna fork out a grand or so then i wouldnt look at 17"s as i said their are alot of factors you have to consider with size of wheels and how much you want to lower the car

naX! nice look! the only mod im gonna do is fit some pukka wheels n' sort the ride height less is more right?, would have thought that 16's and a 40 drop would be a fine all rounder without losing any creature comfortsetc...
thanks WillsSoSaxy. what colour and mk saxo you after. there are plenty of places that do decent wheels at decent prices. i got mine of POTN.
if you look in the YOUR CARS in the blue tabs at the top of the page you will see diforent alloys and ride hights to give you a idea of what you want.

Im down 40mm all round on 16" and get rubbing on complete full lock but will be getting the arches knocked out soon but apart from that its fine.
I have 40 profile tyres aswell.
