Not my fault lol, fuckin' women drivers... (waits for the abuse:homme:)

I'm hoping for 10K+ ??

i should bloody hope you get at least that. hitting a bike is a no no, she should go to jail. by the looks of it its been roughly a year with no work for you, so i would be expecting your salary + inconvenience so i'd think £20k-£25k. but doubt you'd get that, but its what you deserve tbh.

I'm hoping for 10K+ ??

Although I work in insurance, my knowledge of personal injury compensation is limited but I am confident you'd be looking at significantly more than £10k.

What you reckon then mate?

start eyeing up brand new Megane 250 RS's or Focus RS's.. :y:

thats what i'd be looking at if that happened to me, were you wearing full leathers and boots etc?
I think if something like that happened to me on my bike, wearing my BKS Gear i would cry not because of the bike but my precious leathers, there worth more than my bike.

Looks like there might be a silver lining to your troubles. :y:

i have seen worse cases come out worse, for the rider not wearing protective equipment and HIGH Vis jacket.

seriously, if you cant see a bike anyway how the fuck would a high vis make it any easier. clearly not looking enough.
when i was on my 125(had my full license just using it as a cheap runner when teh old gsxr wasnt out) going round a mini, stupid bint hit me, after sliding along the floor i got up to give her fuck and she drove off after saying to someone on the pavement "oh hes ok"

Didn't you bother claiming? Or atleast get some money of the tart to fix your bike

reported it to the po po, lady at the counter was going mental about it, she was a biker herself lol...nothing came of it though - even though i managed to provide, witness name / addy and the Reg of the car.

i awasnt too fussed about it it was only a ybr125 thing. nothing like the other bikes i have / ride.

but still, on topic. stupid cunts who dont look and hit riders should be locked up.

saying that, a woman from Plymouth decided to use a bus lane, hit the rider and killed him.
she was the wife of a manager at Argyle or something... i think it got paid off.

she deserved to be hung.

couldnt be bothered to sit in the traffic, pulled straight into the buss lane to try and undertake everything, didnt even look and straight into the side of a biker.

Karma :y:

we can only hope.

all the best to you, and your road to recovery mind! and hope it doesnt take an impact on your riding days!

sadly, im selling my pride and Joy R6 to purchase something abit more practical for all year round use as i dont ride her enough to warrent the running costs.
you should have words with RichM on here - he was involved in a bike crash, left him paralysed from the chest down. good local friend of mine too. such a shame.

Don't ride bikes anymore since the accident, big put off. And oh shit that's bad, I wouldn't even care about the money if that happened to me. He must of got a 6 figured number, but still, I bet that will never be enough. :n:

as far as im aware... he has yet to recieve anything as the bus driver who hit him, said he was speeding.

so i went with him to the exact place where it happened, he talked me though it. and how when the bike was recovered his speedo was reading 90mph (in a 30 zone and a cbr400) (with smashed speedo lens :detective: and needle too) so i went home, got my R6, took the same route and even with warm michelins pilots on, i couldnt top 60, due to the bend in the road.

Still going through claims at the moment. Speedo was reading 60, not 90 but still, it would not of hit 60 from the distance travelled on a 400 AND I wasn't even gunning it or anything which makes me think something has happened to the speedo needle with it being smashed for it to end up reading that (also as Tonts said he's tried it and barely hits 60 and another mate of mine tried it on his Bandit 600 and could not reach it too let alone a 400). It's only taking ages as they're denying liability even though it was my right of way, even if I was speeding or not.

I met someone in rehab who was on a Kawasaki 636 overtaking on a road, I think he was speeding as well and a car turned right without indicating (so he had no idea that the car driver was going to be in his path and bam! He went into the side of the car, paralysed from the chest down. I believe he got a payout of about £1 million. Completely different injury to yours so will be well out lol. I haven't been told how much I'd get if I do win, due to waiting on percentage of liability and I guess all that takes time.

2Years ago i had a bike crash, a car came over the cross ways and i hit them straight on the side, managed to jump off the bike fly over the car land 4lanes over and into the curb.
I was unconcious for abit someone helped me up and also gave me there buisness card so i had a witness of what happend. After i seen the state of my bike i looked at me to realise all i have was burns on my legs where my trackies burnt into me and a few cuts and bruises everywhere else. I refused to go to hospital (Cant stand the things). Put in a claim on there insurance had many medicals interviews with doctors and what not, after about a week after i started getting upper back pain which i still have now while im typing this message but i had to say to the insurance company i was fully recoverd so i could get my cash quick, i said i was fully recoverd after 2years and recieved the money about 2weeks later, i was offerd £2400 and £1200 for the bike, the bike was only worth like £400 and i got the bike back to sell for parts, £200 for my clothes, i was also given a hired bike for around 3-4weeks that i didnt have to pay a penny for, and a new helmet.

Hope this helps mate

PS She admitted full liabilty then retracted it but i had a witness so she was getting done over anyway, best thing was she only passed her test like 2weeks before and she got 6points

ive had a bit of experience with both bike crashes and ACL reconstructions. both bike crashes ive had have taken no more than 6 months to sort, because luckily it was only very minor injuries (how i have no idea, seeing as i was sideswiped by a car pulling out without looking, i flew across 2 lanes into the curb, and the only injury was a small limp for a week or two!) one of them i got a couple of hundred for the inconvinience, then made £700 on selling the bike in parts! the other, when i was limping for a week, no bruises or real injuries, i got £1000 compensation. if you only get £10k for major ACL damage i'd be pissed off!

the ACL reconstruction is a bit horrible :n: took me a good 9 months of physio to have any kind of confidence in it again. i was having an hour of physio twice a week for 6 months of that. having said that, 18 months on i have no trouble whatsoever with my knee, its exactly like it was before. one nice scar just below my knee cap but the other 4 keyholes have disappeared. its good as new :y:

Sounds like I'm aiming to low wanting around 10K lol, ye it wasn't just my ACL either, there were more medical ligament terms that were torn etc but they done a knee arthroscopy and sorted all that out.

And for my ACL reconstruction they gotta take it from my hamstring, sounds horrible and a long process, wouldn't mind 20+ grand, this is just for my knee aswell, god knows what they're gonna pay up for scars, seizure, unable to work etc..

you know the wierd stringy bit on the inside of your knee joint? thats the bit they take. on my knee you can barely feel that at all, its almost all gone. its a bit wierd, but it seems to work fine!

Just got my bike back after a crash 6th months ago, a guy pulled out infront of me on a roundabout so i hit the rear quarter of his car and he said it was my fault? how it could of ever been my fault I don't know then he took the number of a witness which was given to me and claimed he "lost it" so left with no witnesses :( no injuries and won the case though but insurance companys sure do drag there feet though. Sorry to you guys who came off alot worse :'(

Stefan_Wood

You will be able to claim for loss of earnings , you will need to provide a few weeks previous wage slips and then they will work out an average weekly /daily income and then times it by the amount of weeks/days you have had of , and the best bit is you won't get taxed on it :)
