Has everybody else that has an orange contract had the text?
Am I right in thinking that around a year ago they tried this, and it turned out people were able to cancel contracts for free because of a loophole in the T's & C's? Where would that leave us now?
Anyone?

Yeah I've just read, you can tell them your leaving the contract, and if they say no you can contact ofcom, and if enough people complain then orange would have to answer to an investigation.

Surely the contract is for the agreed price you signed up for and they can't just change it and not let you have the option to cancel.

i got it, going to ring them up tommorow when there isn't a 2 hour phone waiting list!!!!!! gonna try and get out of my contract, see what happens, if not will just threaten a complaint to ofcom, if nothing then will complain to ofcom, i am sure there are thousands of people complaining, for me on a very small payment per month basis its still £20 over my contract life.

Is they not something in the contact terms and conditions saying that orange can change it when they see fit?
I can actually come out of my contract now anyway due to carephonewarehouse insurance. Is it JUST orange doing this or is it everyone else also?

nope not yet, only done a couple of phone calls, and an ofcom complaint, so if they rack up and i keep nagging they might yield. as said they don't have to. but their brand image is going to be soooooo shit after this its not going to be worth it.
orange did "Try" to do it once a couple of years ago but there was soo much uproar they went back on their word with their tail between their legs and said they wouldn't do it again....

I've been with them coming up 6 years, not exactly impressed.
Never really had a problem with signal though.

i have loads of problems with signal!
I literally have to turn off and switch my phone back on about 6 or 7 times a day for it to get signal again. just loses signal randomly, even places where i usually have full signal
