vts rev signal wire help

can anyone tell me which wire in the diagnostic socket i put the signal wire onto for an aftermarket rev counter as i cant seem to figure it out as every wire is grey going into it and when i touch the signal wire onto each part of socket nothing happens and this is a brand new rev counter
