Why do they always lie.

They have like 2 junctions worth of gantries saying 40mph pedestrians in road when there isnt a single one.

Or 40mph accident slow down, everyone slows down almost going into the back of each other couse of people slowing down almost causing accidents, then it says *END* when nothing was there? Are they putting the signs up to cause accidents?

On the M1 last night every single one had something on from London to Nottingham, 3 accidents, 2 roads closed, junctions closed and pedestrians in the road. Only one was telling the truth..

If they told the truth im sure people would actually pay attention and slow down rather than plow through at 70/80 when it says 40.

i seen one saying exotic animals in the road, couldnt get a pic cos i was driving

but yeah always see them, every time you come on m1 at j15a it flashes up 50,caution accident, then few miles down just says end

they are just bollox my 4 hour drive home turned into a 9 hour drive cos m25 had 20mph signs up for fog. didnt see any fucking fog but people still saw sign rammed on breaks and came to a stand still cos everyone slammed into peoples arses.

You see these saying 'Animals in the Road' going down the A1 and there never is, maybe a blackbird on the banking but thats not worth flashing the warning sign up for.

fucking hate this. Im on the m4 into london and sometimes the m25 like 5 days a week and they always say this! recently its been saying 'caution: slow down animals in the road' im yet to see a fucking animal.
whenever it says a slower speed limit like 40 or 50mph, i never actually see anyone taking notice of this :S

What's the law with the speed signs? Are they suggested or do you have to stick to them? If it said 50 and I did 70 past a copper, providing the conditions allowed it, would I get done?

M6 Last night :- ' Slow, Fog'. traveled 20 or so miles , everyone putting on there fog lights.

Just to find a sign saying 'end' . There was no fog there was no problem at all and it was only 3pm, really do need to sort them selves out.

The fact is now, every driver knows those signs are telling out of date information or just plain porkies that everyone ignores them. A total waste of time and money if they aren't going to used correctly.

they spent something stupid like £80m on the ones in suffolk and they're hardly ever used.

money could have been spent resurfacing sections of the a14 where its just noisy, shitty, rough, bumpy concrete with nice smooth tarmac.

Exactly! So people slow down, reduce MPG for some vehicles, increase the risk of accident as the traffic becomes alot tighter and people brake and go into the back of each other, everyone ignores the signs because theyre 90% bollox half the time, so when they actually are telling the truth such as "man laying down in middle lane" no one will give a shit and plough over him at 90mph or something lol

Waste of money, an annoyance and increase of accidents.

However, if I was the guy operating them I would put some stupid messages up. "hoover bags in road, brake really hard" "stop its the sound of the police" "put your hands in the air if you hand no hair"
