So as the title says i want to have bucket seats with harness's up front but still have my rear bench in.. The problem i face is where to SAFELY fasten the harness's to.

Like make an extra bracket somewhere or is there a safe point on the car i can fasten to?

Thanks in advance

you cant have harnesses with a rear bench fitted.

why would you need your rear bench with buckets anyway?

or are they the gay reclining type?

i want rear seats with bucket seats because i like the look/feel of bucket seats but also want to maintain weight balance and reduced road noise as it is a daily driver...
and yes they are reclining ones "/

I took my back seats out about 2 weeks ago, built a false floor from the backs of the front seats to the boot, its a work in progress but the road noise isnt much of a difference and i havent had any problems with balance

^ this is in my daily drive.

Have normal seatbelts if its a daily drive and get that lock thing Kam sells.

Cant have harnesses and rear bench with belts too. It wont be safe wherever you bolt the harness down if you dont use the normal anchoring points.

how can the rear bench help balance they weigh bugger all. have to make a choice harnesses and no rear bench or rear bench and no harnesses. personally dont see the point of harnesses if ur not on track anyway and on road u just look like a strapped in baby wearing them.
i have reclining buckets in mine no harnesses and standard seat beats and still dont use rear bench more than once a year if that. no one wants to cram in the back of a saxo too bloody uncomfortable

My car comes standard with reclining recaro buckets and normal seatbelts not harnesses so theyre fine to use with buckets if thats what you're thinking.

Consider this if you want something abit more than the standard seatbelt tension:

I used the standard rear seatbelt placement

Its too steep an angle really to come down but its the ssme as a lot of people do anyway

I wouldnt say using those points is any un safer having the bench in place still either

Alex how much of a hassle was it to remove the harness then use your rear seats?

Thinking of doing something similar

Front 2 clasps are eye bolts so not much only issue i had was rear leg room was minimal

Just un clip the front and fold the harness up under the base of the back seat as my rear clasps are the fixed bolt in type not eye bolts

Alex, I put its dangerous if they dont use the points you are using! So he can use the rear bench and still have harnesses, but using any other place isnt as strong or up to the job unless made so!

when i did mine i replaced the bolt that hold the rear buckles in with eye bolts. then with the quick release harnesses you can just unclip them when you want to.. easy.

Basically like mine then except ive bolted the harness where the seatbelts go as mine dont run eye bolts on the rear

The 3" in my saxo does and will be on eye bolts under the bench though as it was in my old vtr
I never used my rear seats in the 106 so i ddnt even have the origonal rear or front belts anymore the bench is purely decorative and as a sound deadening device

Straight from the horses mouths, so to speak.

See mine doesnt conflict with any of those other than the angle the shoulder straps co.e down at is too steep but 90% of cars on here with harnesses have that issue
