Revs Racing after flat battery

Hi all , Wife left lights on in saxo today and battery dead flat, when i jump started the car the revs were racing, tryed starting several times just the same, drove home like this about a mile and after about half an hour went out to have a look at things and everything was back to normal , was this because the battery was dead flat or do i have a problem

Possibly, usually down to stepper motor. See how it goes but I think it should be okay.
