anyone used a mark two decat pipe before

for 25 quid i Can get a custom decat pipe. Mainly i need it for my blowing standard cat Downpipe. But yeah, the one i have been offered is basically half a standard Downpipe and its been cut where the cat would normally be, then a stainless steel replacement bit is welded on. Would you recommend this as a temp solution until i get a proper manifold ? And also is there anything i Can put on the standard part of it to stop it rusting like my current one has.

Standard mani will go orange/brown as its cast iron. Any pictures?

no pics at the moment but gazer has one. Can you upload it mate. Its basicaly 50 % standard down pipe and instead of the cat bit there is a stainless steel replacement bend welded on. Apparently there was no leaks from it. If it lasts me 6 months its a cheap fix until i Can afford to properly sort the problem with a mani or cat dependin if Im going to sell it as standard.
