i want to scrub up my manky alternator, by taking it to bits and painting the outer caseing. (black)
do these get 'hot'? as i need to determine whether to use standard paint or high temp stuff.

No mate it won't get that hot to need heat proof paint, just use a good primer such as sikkens 1k wash primer for the aluminium or acid 8 stop the aluminium oxidizing under the paint.

Cheers Bedford. Yea Kyle I was thinking that, but, when it goes dull ill be lazy again and let it rot.:n: this is the reason why my cylinder head is now Matt black rather than shiny lol. I used all my heat paint on that:n:
