Just picked up my first vtr...
- red
- 52 plate
- 57 miles on the clock..
- really tidy!
First impressions: really nice car, beautiful to drive.. Seems to drink petrol when you give it some stick but I guess that is to be expected.
The car is pretty much standard, it's got some naff alloys (can anyone tell me what they are?) and it had come with what looks like a scorpion back box ( anyone rate these?)
Time to start slowly modding I guess but where to start.. Bearing in mind I intend to start off small :)
Would appreciate everyone's opinions on anything in this post :) thanks!

As has been said, standard VTR alloys mate!
looks good to me, nice low mileage too.
Don't go overboard with the mods for now, just keep it clean and tidy and do a few choice things, lowering, a few styling things etc. Then the big mods can come later ;)

Cheap things to do if you want to start small:
-501 SMD lights (bright white) for sidelights, interior light and number plate lights
-Dewiper the rear
-Perhaps respray grill and interior plastics if they look abit worse for wear
-Smoke headlight inserts if your confident enough to put your headlights in the oven...
Guides on here for pretty much all of that :y:

I brought it back from a unit in Loughborough, yeahh it's really tidy tbh the inside is immaculate so I'll leave it untouched for a while but as for the exterior mods, thanks for the advice guys :)

Are they tricky to lower due to the torsion bar at the back?

Aye mate, if you don't feel confident enough yourself to do it there's plenty of boys on here that are willing to do it for you. Or anyone local, personally I wouldn't pay over £100 for the service so if I were you I'd either fit them myself or get quoting

i've got a fair bit of experience mechanics wise but ive never had to play with a torsion bar yet, i guess it will be an experience ;)
what sort of price do the lowering kits go for and can you reccomend and decent makes?

mate, best to pay someone else to do it than do it yourself, way too much hassle unless you've done it before and know what to do.. highly recommend krisb though!
as for kits, look on kamracing's website.. where I got mine from :A: www.kamracing.co.uk - I found that spax are great value for money :y:
