Chris

..... what do you all suggest to do to it quickly before they come to look at it... I'll be getting home around 6:15, so will only have about 15-20 mins to make it look appealing to the buyer. They are gonna be getting an absolute bargain anyway as I have said I'll sell it for £2500 cash. This is an X reg VTR in very good condition, fully serviced, only 60K on the clock and all mods done very tastefully.
Cheers for any help given.

I'm gonna give it some dashboard shineage when I get home!

lower it <snigger> :P
Quick wash outside, quick hoover inside and a bit of back to black on the dash and a stinking air freshner, job done

yeh lol, my wee air freshner doesnt work very hard, a dash shine once in a while does the 'new car smell' a treat.
A quick scrub with a £2 tescos wheel brush a 99p can of cleaning spray b4 it goes in for the carwash will bring the wheels out glistening!

Round where I live you wouldn't wanna lower it.... I've recently taken the bumper off and had it refurbed due to the gf scraping it on a speedbump, braking the Fibraglass bracket on the back.
She's all hoovered I think.

Good luck with the sale Chris, hopefully the buyers will love it! ...but something else you HAVE to do before it goes, is hide as many sax-p flyers in random places in the car as possible :P

IT'S SOLD:beer:
I waved goodbye to her lastnight http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/happy/457.gif
The traffic on the way home from work was shit, so I called the girlf and got her to take it down the Cosovan Car Wash, then when she got back she cleaned it a little bit inside, then the people turned up 10 mins early. I got in and went round to the garage and they were already looking inside it etc.
Anyway, after a look round it and a short test drive, they handed over £2500 cash and I gave them all the history I could find and handed them the keys!!
YAY!!!!!!!

Yeah I've got an FTO meet this weekend, then after that I will be working on the FTO every weekend until it's sold me thinks.
We can start looking for our Astra Convertible Turbo now, but I have a feeling we'll have to settle for the 2.2l instead.

I dont like the Astra Turbo i the ones i have seen/been in are slow for what they are, i would prefer the 2.2l anyway if i was you !
Chris
21st July 2006, 08:49
2.2 = 8.9 0-60
Turbo = 7.5 0-60
I'm use to a 6.9 0-60
I'm gonna try and hold out for the Turbo me thinks.

yep the turbo convertable is the bollocks! i would even have the coupe.
Chris
21st July 2006, 09:09
I like the coupe, but the girlfriend wants a convertible since we sold her MR2 Roadster, so we have compramised (sp) and agreed on the Astra Convertible Turbo, cause it's a soft-top, it has a bit of poke when you put your right foot down and also we can fit our mates in the back of it. We would have liked a Beemer convertible, but they were too expensive, as were all the A4's.

fair enough, when are you looking to get the astra?
end of summer when the prices drop?
Chris
21st July 2006, 09:34
Well I've gotta get the FTO on the market first, then we will start looking.
Got to replace the heat sensor, the steering gaiter, get the strut bars on the front and back and a few other little bits first.
Chris :)
Well done Chris!! Its been for sale for ages!!
Chris
21st July 2006, 09:59
Yeah I know........ there was nothing wrong with it either, it's just people want something for nothing nowadays..... loads of people called me to ask the reserve price and when I told them what it was they sounded suprised.... I think they were hoping I was gonna say something like £1K or something.
Chris :)

Cheers Laura!
Well the gf wanted to sell it as much as I did in order to start looking for our new joint car. I'm really glad they liked it too..... I sold it to a 20 year old girl, her boyfriend pulled up in a really nice Nissan 300zx, so he obviously knew a few things about cars.
