AA cover?

Basically i've been having a problem with my car recently, in that the PAS pump and heaters come on the second ignition click instead of when the engine's on, meaning that it drains my battery straight away resultig inme aving to jump start the car, i've had a problem thread here http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=407167.

As you can see the battery light doesn't cme on when it should but the PAS pump does instead, i've had Beanimoo saying it could be a relay and Dom saying the problem could lie in thefuse box.

I was just wondering, i have AA cover..If i drove out of town a bit and turned the car off so it won't start again would the AA be able to sort it? Only thing im kind of worried about is that I dpn't have the standard engine in..would they pick up on this and fuck me over by saying i don't have cover or tell insurance etc? (only reason it's not claimed on insurance is that my insurance is up on 9th jan when i will be claiming it.

'Apparently not with the cover i have. Had a problem with the car not being able to lock itself a few months ago and the woman told me that since i'm at my home address they wouldn't come to me as i have roadside cover only.

Either way, do you recon i'd be alright calling them out or would they get me in trouble for not claiming i have a non-standard engine?

No money to fix something when i don't know what it is. Garage will diagnose and charge for it, fuck around and charge for it and probably fuck me over and charge for it. AA will diagnose, even if they can't fix it i at least know what's wrong so can get help properly.

I said to the aa bloke before what would happen if I had a different engine in n didn't tell the insurance about it could I still be covered with the aa if it broke down. He just said that it didn't matter if it was a standard engine for the car or not hed still fix or try an fix the problem.

They wont actually fix the car though they just bodge it to get you home with zip ties and wd40 to get you home so youll still have a problem after

My crank sensor went the guy bodged it and said get a new one when your home got halfway and it failed fully they dont carry spares ect with them amd if it requires any parts they just flatbed the car home for you to fix at a later date

Also no standard engine doesnt matter at all to them they will just go "oh its not standard it could be a problem.with the conversion" and tow you home

All i really need is a diagnostic of what could be wrong, like a battery and alternator test aswell. I've ben told tey carry small spares such as relays and fuses etc? i've been told my problem could be a relay but i don't have a multimeter to check the wiring around the alernator etc.

Take it too a small independant garage, they will test the battery with a multi-meter. Will take 2 secs.

i doubt it would matter tbh, the aa dont exactly talk to the insurance so for all they know you could just tell them its all declared.
Also, unless the aa man knows his saxos and is a fellow member on here, he probably wouldnt even know what the original spec of your car is. hes not exactly going to be inspecting engine codes with your v5 lol

AA are the dogs. I've had the full breakdown cover with them and breakdown repair cover to for years. If you call them out and they can't fix it they take you to any garage of your choice and pay £500 towards the repair minus £25 excess. The amount of claims I used to make on my Scooby ;)

Surely if the car isn't starting one of the first things they'll try is a jump start anyway? They're not going to waste time trying to diagnose a problem if it's easy enough to get the car started? May be wrong about this but that's my opinion.
