Had my car dyno'd earlier today,205 with 2.0 S16 knew it wasnt running 100%, made 151bhp and it's overfueling, plus the exhaust is shagged, more stuff to sort! The graph is just bhp run by the way couldn't do the torque figure because my rev counter isn't working correctly.

Not bad for an overfuelling old S16 tbh

Got any ideas to the over fueling issues?

Couldn't do a proper run, he couldn't plug in to get RPM's

speed against lambda? bit strange.

and couldn't he run it off the coilpack? like MOTers? lol

have you got a twin carb conversion on it?

Lovely cars!

have you got a twin carb conversion on it?

Nope it's the original set up, the figure isn't that bad its just the overfueling I don't like

Your carburetor or injection is either too big or letting too much fuel out then (captain obvious). The other cause could be not enough air getting in so your mixture air/fuel isn't optimal. Shouldn't be too hard to tweak?

Yep it's going to be trial and error mate, it's coming off the road next week as a project so will be sorted soon hopefully!

does the s16 run the same throttle body as the gti 6?

Have you got the twin inlet manifold system operating correctly?

does the s16 run the same throttle body as the gti 6?

nope its a different one, there are some very easy gains to be had from the engine once you have it running correctly.

firstly make sure the avac inlet system is working, you shoulkd have a diaphram at each end of the inlet manifold which opens a set of butterflies inside the inlet to alter the air feed lengthes to improve power and torque at different throttle openings, looking at your earlier pictures and that graph i would say yours isnt working correctly.

when i had my s16 and set it all up i had a power curve that was nice and smooth, no dips etc
yours looks to be very flat below around 40mph and then pic up alot which is a sign the avac isnt working as it should.

once you have it all working correctly you can gain a fwew bhp by fitting a ptfe inlet gasket, having the spindle cut down on the butterflys you have one on each port unlike most cars that have one or two in the tb.
also port match the inlet manifold to the head.

I havnt a clue how to set up the AVAC system correctly lol

do the diaphrams at each end of the inlet move when yiu rev the engine?

post a pic of the bay a good close up one so i can see if you have all the correct hoses##

it should look like this

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y162/swampys16/fcs07/fcs07010.jpg

the blue pipes are the avac pipe work

run from a solenoid on the gear box end of the cylinder head, takes a vacume reading from the inlet manifold as does the ecu.
the two big black domes either end of the head are the diaphrams which open and close the butterfly valves inside of the head

The diaphragms open pretty much as soon as I tOuch the throttle and stay open,

so is the s16 just a newer mi16? with the double butterfly throttle body?

so is the s16 just a newer mi16? with the double butterfly throttle body?

kind of
but it has a single butterfly in the throttle body then has a set of them in the inlet manifold aswell!!!!

Swampy can you set everything up for me you seem to know what's going on lol

its being two years since i got rid of mine and 7 years since i set it up

you need to amake sure that each of the avac chambers opens properly.
wioth the engine off make sure that the buterfly on each end is fully closed and when open they open all the way.

you can adjust it by turning the bar that connects the diaphram to the quadrant in or out, be careful as th ends brack easily and you have to replace the complete unit.
