I was on the motor way with 3 of my mates today and we were on quite a steep bit of hill and foot the floor in fifth i could not get it passed 80 lol
Downhill it goes over 100 but i doubt its reading correclty, they should go 101 mph according to parkers i think.

whats the rev limit on a 1.1? i think youd be looking at 6200rpm it would be squeeling like a cheap whore it just wouldnt the vtr at a comfy 5400 rpm would be crusing hahaha

PMSL!!!
There is no way on earth a 1.1 would do 115. If you were on a steep hill the size of everest with your foot down it would probably only get to about 105. I've had 95 on a stretch of road over 2 miles long and it proper struggled to get to that. ( by the way i dont condone speeding!!! THe speed limits 70 so it shouldn't be broken:wink: )

i had 100mph once but thats it....
not worth buying a 1.1 if your after speed
plus spped limit is 60mph
Danr
21st July 2006, 08:15
I can get to 102 and then it just sits there and doesn't go any faster.
And anyway, its not how quick you can go, its how fast you get there ;)
Connor_scotland
21st July 2006, 08:23
115mph would be impossible unless your being towed i reckon
i would be scared in my 1.1 at that speed incase it blew up
Scott
21st July 2006, 08:28
bouncing off the limiter in a 1.1 on 15's qith 195/45 tyres would be 122.9MPH.
The 1.1 doesnt have enough power to pull to the limiter considering max power has tailed off at about 5200 and air resistance

The only teeny weeny chance of making 120 would be through slipstreaming and/or going downhill. and even then the speeedo will be out so expect a ball park figure of 110mph.

well wot im goin to say has already bin siad before, but basically ur sayin ur speedo read like 115 or wotever. Thats fine, but speedos are not accurate!
Alot of people have posted that they have done 60 in second gear in a vtr!??
Thats jus the speedos asumution, wot ur really doin is more like 53-54 (redline). Speedo are less accurate the faster ur goin, i.e. up to 70mph anything over that n there like 7% out or something along those lines.
Hope that helps

Stats figures for a pug 206 as I have a book on them (as i used to have a 206!): Hope it helps!!
1.1 - 0-60 = 14.4 secs Top speed is 95mph
1.4 - 0-60 = 12.5 secs Top speed is 103mph
1.6 xs - 0-60 = 11.3 secs Top speed is 112mph
1.6 xsi - 0-60 = 9.5 secs Top speed is 123
and so on and so on.....
These stats cant be far off for a citroen i guess, meaning a 1.1 will have a top speed of around 100mph i guess.
However my 1.1 206 with 15" alloys and a pipercross induction kit read 116 down Wrotham Hill lol!! But I reckon the speedo was prob out by a bit maybe was doing 105-110?!? But end of the day who cares!

Book times for pug 206 are a lot slower than the saxo 1.1 for some reason. I think saxo 1.1 is in the 12 second area 0-60 by the book.
Whats so amazing about doing over 100 or whatever it was
