I sold my saxo quite a while ago and bought a ep3 which is nearing completion and am now getting bored! Everytime i come on to the computer im attracted onto ebay looking at vts's and 106 gti's for a 2nd toy. I am undecided which one and whether i should or not sooooooooo i thought i would ask sax-p!!

I like the GTI over all others tbh

GTI because they look better and seem to be worth more....maybe because there are less of them around.

gti, less of them around, can get leather in them, nicer colours.

i think the mk2 vts looks more modern and better than a gti, but if i were looking for a toy it would be a rallye

Gti for me too, they don't seem to have a reputation like the saxo does.

Out of the two i'd pick a VTS. Why pay more for basically the same car. Whack a set of GTI seats in if you want the leather.

Pay less you get the chavtastic image ;)
Pay more and you get the little extra's already :y:

I'm personally not too fussed what people think. I mean this in the least offensive way possible dude but anybody not into car's will look at a modified 106 and still think you're a chav.

^^This. Surely if it's just a toy, the cheaper the better!

If its just a for pissing about as a toy then go for the S no point paying more for the same thing.
If you do get a Sax buy a Mk1.

Like what some have said, it's the same car for a lot less money. I was in the same dilemma recently and just couldn't justify the extra money for a 106, but I do agree they look better.

i voted for a gti but i think if its just a cheap runabout then just get a vts. can be had for nothing these days

vts with gti leathers is the best option,
and like said above a 106 gti is still a chav car to the everday person/over 22yo,
ive got an ep3 aswell :D buy my vts ;)

I think you might struggle to find a standard GTI. There was one one ebay a year or two back, Ten thousand miles on it. LOL. It was seriously immaculate. But the rest i see are like modified and battered. Or nicely modified and not for sale

GTI looks mean! Just shame theres no low mileage ones around anymore :( I look quite a bit at pistonheads, ebay and autotrader with no decent ones under 90k normally.

Struggle to find decent gti's that you dont have to pay over the odds for, and all the reasonably priced ones have 100k + miles on and are also sheds, would be the vts or not bothering for me

VTS, I like the 106's but they seem to be getting expensive to buy... unless you want something that going to be rare soon?
