That doesnt really answer his question.
The clay bar is a very good cleaning tool.
Wash you car first.
Then spray the quick detailer onto the paint, and rub the clay bar over the area. It is very easy to use. Just make sure the area is well covered in the quick detailer lubricant solution.
It may take a few pannels to get the hang of it, but when it glides smoothly over a area that area is clean.
Once you have cleaned an area wipe the excess lube off with a microfibre towel.
Also when you apply the extra gloss protection you could do with applying a wax ontop of this to truely protect the paintwork.
The sealant just seals and apply a small protective layer over the car. Where as a wax would supply a thicker protective layer that would last longer.

One other essential tip - the clay bar must be soft enough to mould easily in your hands. If it's hard and difficult to work, place it in a jug of warm water for 5 mins before using it. If it hardens as you use it, tear the clay into two bits, do the panel with one while the other one softens in the water, then swap them round after each panel. Using clay that is too hard is the main reason people mark their paint when using clay.

^^ cheers for the tip mate, although my clay stays pretty soft this may explain why i had to redo the bonnet once when it marked slightly.

Depends on how much crap it lifts off of the paint - if you fold the piece you are working with and can't get a clean face, it's time to bin it (or at least demote it to wheel and glass use only). On most cars you go though a whole bar every time you clay (every 6-12 months). :)

so do you wash your car then use the clay bar, then wash again then apply your polish wax etc?

Second wash is optional, I rarely do it, only needed if any clay residue is visible on the panels - I use a waffle weave to dry off each panel as I go round with the clay bar, and the drying action leaves the paint perfect for the next step. :)
